About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced MongoDB Administrator to join our growing technology team. This role is ideal for someone with a deep understanding of NoSQL database technologies, specifically MongoDB, and experience supporting large-scale, high-availability environments.

You'll play a critical role in managing, monitoring, tuning, and securing MongoDB clusters while also collaborating with cross-functional teams on integration, performance, and architectural decisions — especially in financial services or banking environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer and maintain MongoDB clusters, including replica sets and sharded clusters, in a production-grade environment.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of MongoDB databases.
  • Implement and manage MongoDB monitoring tools such as Ops Manager, MongoDB Atlas, or similar solutions.
  • Perform backup, restore, and disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Optimize performance through indexing, schema design, and query tuning.
  • Collaborate with DevOps, application developers, and system administrators to ensure seamless database integration.
  • Write and maintain scripts for automation and monitoring in Linux/Unix environments.
  • Support upgrades and patching of MongoDB instances and ensure minimal downtime.

Technical Skills Required:

  • Deep knowledge of MongoDB architecture, including storage engines, replication, sharding, and indexing.
  • Hands-on experience with MongoDB 4.x/5.x, including configuration and performance tuning.
  • Proficiency in MongoDB queries, Aggregation Framework, and MapReduce.
  • Experience with MongoDB Atlas, Ops Manager, or similar monitoring tools.
  • Strong understanding of backup and restore procedures in MongoDB.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix OS, scripting, and shell environments.
  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud (especially MongoDB as a service).

Preferred Certifications:

  • MongoDB Certified DBA or MongoDB Certified Developer (preferred)
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP) are a strong plus
