Role Overview :

As the Principal Software Engineer, you will spearhead the design, development, and optimization of IndustryBuying's search and recommendation systems. Leveraging technologies like Java, ElasticSearch, Solr, Vector Search, Generative AI, Vespa, and Milvus, you will create intelligent solutions to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities :

- Search Optimization : Design and enhance search functionalities for improved relevance, accuracy, and speed across IndustryBuying's extensive product catalog.

- Recommendation Systems : Develop and implement personalized recommendation engines using Generative AI, Vector Search, and NLP technologies.

- Algorithm Development : Build and deploy algorithms for ranking models, user intent prediction, and behavior-based personalization.

- Advanced Integration : Integrate cutting-edge tools like Milvus, ElasticSearch, Vespa, and Solr for enhanced search and recommendations.

- Data Indexing : Optimize large-scale ingestion pipelines for both structured and unstructured data.

- Cross-functional Collaboration : Partner with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to align search and recommendation features with business goals.

- Performance Tuning : Monitor and optimize system performance, conducting A/B testing and deploying experiments to drive continuous improvement.

- Team Leadership : Mentor and guide a team of engineers, ensuring the timely delivery of innovative search and recommendation features.

- Production Support : Diagnose and resolve real-time issues to deliver a seamless and reliable user experience.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- Education : Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

- Technical Proficiency : Expertise in Java programming.

- Hands-on experience with ElasticSearch, Solr, Vespa, and Milvus.

- Strong understanding of Vector Search, NLP, and Generative AI for semantic and context-aware search.

- Proven experience in building recommendation systems and ranking models.

- Knowledge of distributed systems, data pipelines, and real-time search platforms.

Analytical Skills :

- Experience in A/B testing, relevance tuning, and analyzing behavioral data.

- Cloud and Containerization : Familiarity with AWS, GCP, or Azure, and tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

- Leadership and Problem-Solving : Strong problem-solving abilities and proven experience in leading -engineering teams to deliver innovative solutions.
