Sales/Marketing Officer/Manager – Special Steels (South India)

Regional Business Head – South India
Position Objective
We are looking for a dynamic
Sales/Marketing professional based in Chennai
to expand Blue Ocean Steels' footprint across South India. The role involves developing new customers, engaging with component manufacturers, and driving region-specific sales strategies. This is a
field-intensive role
with significant travel exposure—ideal for someone passionate about technical sales and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Acquire & manage customers across Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Kerala
Build long-term relationships with auto, defence & engineering component manufacturers
Conduct plant visits & present BOS's value proposition directly to customers
Generate inquiries, submit offers, follow up & close business opportunities
Collaborate with internal teams for timely deliveries & customer onboarding
Track competitor activities, pricing trends & maintain accurate reports
Guide buyers on technical specifications, grades & applications of special steels
Represent BOS with professionalism, urgency & customer-first approach
Qualifications & Experience
B.E./B.Tech – Mechanical / Metallurgy (Preferred)
Diploma with strong sales/technical experience may also apply
4–8 years in sales/marketing of special steels, industrial components, or related B2B products
Experience dealing with purchase, production & quality heads in manufacturing units
Willingness for intensive travel across South India
Knowledge of Tamil & other South Indian languages is an advantage
Skills & Attributes
Strong knowledge of carbon, alloy & tool steels
Commercial acumen & negotiation skills
Familiarity with steel supply chain & logistics
Self-driven, disciplined & target-focused
Strong interpersonal & customer management skills
Ability to work independently with regular reporting
Compensation
Salary as per industry standards
