Job Summary

We are looking for a talented GIS Web Application Full-Stack Developer to join our innovative team. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain web applications centered on geographic information systems (GIS). You will leverage your full-stack development expertise to build both front-end and back-end components, with a focus on spatial data visualization, map-based solutions, and ArcGIS technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop intuitive web applications using modern front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) tailored for GIS solutions. Build and extend custom widgets in ArcGIS Experience Builder using TypeScript and the Jimu library. Implement user-friendly interfaces ensuring seamless GIS application functionality across various devices. Develop and maintain server-side components using Node.js or Python (Django) to support GIS-related web applications. Integrate both 2D and 3D content into web applications using ArcGIS API for JavaScript. Collaborate with back-end developers, GIS analysts, and design teams to merge mapping services and spatial data. Ensure applications are responsive and compatible with different browsers and screen sizes. Utilize APIs like ArcGIS, OpenLayers, Leaflet, or Mapbox to incorporate GIS data and services. Implement DevOps practices, including containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes). Manage CI/CD pipelines to streamline the deployment of web applications. Work with cloud-based GIS platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) to deploy and scale services. Implement security protocols to safeguard sensitive geospatial data. Maintain and improve existing GIS applications by troubleshooting and optimizing performance. Keep up-to-date with advancements in GIS web technologies and ArcGIS platforms. Develop map components, overlays, and layers based on project needs. Handle reading and writing spatial data from databases, ensuring proper data flow through user inputs and queries.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, or related fields. Minimum 5 years of full-stack web development experience with a focus on GIS applications. Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript. Strong experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder and ArcGIS API for JavaScript. Experience in back-end development using Node.js or Python (Django). Familiarity with ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise environments. Experience developing custom widgets and extending ArcGIS Experience Builder functionality. Knowledge of GIS software like ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, or GeoServer. Experience with DevOps tools (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines). Experience with cloud GIS services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud). Proficiency in responsive design and cross-browser compatibility. Knowledge of spatial databases (PostGIS, PostgreSQL). Strong SQL skills. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with React.js and modern JavaScript frameworks. Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Knowledge of geospatial data formats and standards. Experience with ArcGIS Pro or ArcMap for data analysis and preparation. Familiarity with ArcGIS Experience Builder Developer Edition for advanced customization. Experience with FME for data transformation and integration. Knowledge of machine learning and AI applications in GIS.
