The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and a strong track record in driving business growth through the development of new partnerships, identifying market opportunities, and fostering relationships with key stakeholders. You will play a critical role in expanding our API business, bringing new clients on board, and contributing to the company's strategic vision.Key Responsibilities:- Business Development & Strategy:- Identify and evaluate new business opportunities in the API sector.- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand the company’s API portfolio and market share.- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, partners, and stakeholders in the pharmaceutical industry.- Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities.- Lead negotiations and manage the commercial terms of API contracts, partnerships, and agreements.- Client Relationship Management:- Cultivate strong relationships with pharmaceutical companies, CMO/CDMO partners, and other stakeholders.- Coordinate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Regulatory, Manufacturing, etc.) to ensure customer requirements are met.- Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts and ensure customer satisfaction.- Sales & Revenue Growth:- Drive revenue growth through effective sales strategies, focusing on both existing and new business.- Achieve and exceed sales targets and objectives related to the API business.- Prepare and deliver presentations to prospective clients, showcasing API products and services.- Market Intelligence & Reporting:- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activity.- Provide regular updates to senior management on market conditions, potential leads, and performance metrics.- Analyze sales data to identify areas for improvement and opportunities for business expansion.- Regulatory and Compliance Awareness:- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, quality standards, and industry best practices in all business development activities.- Collaborate with regulatory and quality assurance teams to ensure products meet the required specifications and standards.Qualifications:- Bachelor’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA or Master’s degree is a plus).- 3 to 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing within the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on APIs.- Proven experience in managing complex negotiations and building long-term business relationships.- Strong understanding of API market dynamics, regulatory environments, and industry standards.- Experience in working with cross-functional teams to drive product development and customer satisfaction.- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.- Strong analytical skills with a strategic mindset.Preferred Skills:- Knowledge of global pharmaceutical markets, including emerging markets.- Ability to travel as required for business meetings, conferences, and site visits.
