Job Overview:
We are seeking a Compliance Officer specializing in Registered Training Organization (RTO) compliance plays a crucial role in ensuring that the organization adheres to all relevant regulations and standards in the education and training sector. Here's an overview of the responsibilities involved in this role:
Job Description:
• Policy Development:
Develop, review, and update compliance policies and procedures in line with education and training regulations.
• Compliance Monitoring:
Implement systems and processes to monitor ongoing compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
Regularly assess internal operations to identify areas of potential non-compliance.
• Internal Audits:
Conduct internal audits to evaluate and verify compliance with established policies and procedures.
Generate audit reports, outlining findings and recommended corrective actions.
• Documentation Management:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of compliance documentation, including policies, reports, and audit findings.
• Training Programs:
Develop and deliver compliance training programs for staff to ensure awareness and understanding of regulatory requirements.
• Risk Assessment:
Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential compliance risks.
Implement strategies to address and manage identified risks.
• Communication and Reporting:
Communicate changes in regulations and compliance requirements to relevant stakeholders.
Prepare and submit regular compliance reports to senior management.
• Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal departments and external agencies to address compliance issues.
Act as a liaison with regulatory bodies and participate in relevant forums.
• Investigations:
Conduct investigations into reported compliance concerns or incidents.
Ensure that corrective actions are taken to address identified issues.
• Continuous Improvement:
Monitor industry best practices and changes in regulations to suggest improvements to compliance processes.
Implement improvements to enhance overall compliance effectiveness.
• Legal Compliance:
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations affecting the education and training sector.
Collaborate with legal counsel when necessary to address legal compliance issues.
• Quality Assurance:
Implement quality assurance processes to ensure that education and training programs meet or exceed established standards.
• Ethical Oversight:
Promote and enforce ethical conduct in all compliance-related activities.
Uphold the institution's commitment to integrity and ethical behavior.
• Emergency Preparedness:
Develop and maintain emergency response plans related to compliance issues.
Ensure readiness to address compliance-related emergencies.
• Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and maintain comprehensive reports on compliance activities.
Document instances of non-compliance, investigations, and corrective actions taken.
Requirements • Understanding of national and regional vocational education and training regulations.
• Familiarity with standards and requirements set by relevant authorities and state departments including Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory
• Previous experience working in a compliance or quality assurance role in an RTO environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of the Standards for RTOs 2015.
• Experience in using an RTO student management system.
• Able to work in multi-disciplined teams in a reliable and highly professional manner.
• High level of attention to detail.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• Independent research skills.
• Excellent computer skills with an advanced level of proficiency in creating documents, marketing materials, editing, and publishing.
• Strong working knowledge of computer applications including; Outlook and Microsoft Office packages (Word and Excel) as a minimum.
• Highly developed written and oral communication skills.
