Materials Purchasing Executive

Job Overview: The Mechanical Material Purchase Executive will be responsible for the strategic sourcing, procurement, and delivery of mechanical materials and equipment essential for the hospital’s operations. The ideal candidate will ensure that all purchases support the hospital's standards for quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods or services and maintaining stock levels.- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand for mechanical materials and equipment in collaboration with the maintenance and facilities departments.- Research and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, service support, availability, reliability, and selection.- Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers, maintaining professional relationships while ensuring compliance with hospital standards and cost constraints.- Coordinate with suppliers and logistics to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.- Manage the inventory of mechanical materials, implementing controls to ensure that inventory is maintained to optimal levels to support hospital operations without excessive surplus.- Prepare purchase orders and verify receipt of items, handle discrepancies in orders, and troubleshoot any related issues.- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as hospital policies.- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other important data.- Work closely with the maintenance department to identify and resolve maintenance issues related to equipment or materials procurement.- Regularly report to management on procurement metrics, supply chain performance, and potential improvements or risks.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.- Proven experience in purchasing or procurement, specifically in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred.- Strong understanding of mechanical components, tools, and machinery used in healthcare facilities.- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.- Ability to analyze data and supply trends to make informed purchasing decisions.- Proficient in procurement software and general computer literacy.
