Job Summary

We areseeking a Downstream Process Engineer with experience in Thermalcracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaking) processes to join our GlobalManufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream GlobalManufacturing Support Department (GMSD). GMSDs technical team is amultidisciplinary team provides the required highquality technicalsupport to GM operating facilities (Refineries NGLF andpetrochemical plants) inside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia &across the globe. Your primary role will be to provide processengineering and operations expertise to monitor optimize and driveperformance improvement programs for refineries thermal crackingprocesses including remote and field technical advisory supportbenchmarking and Delayed Coker / Visbreaker technology knowledgemanagement and exchange. You will drive the performance improvementprograms which enhance process safety optimize manufacturing costand increase plant reliability.

KeyResponsibilities
  • Review and monitor the performance of existing Thermalcracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) facilities using keyperformance indicators (KPIs) related to operability profitabilityreliability and process safety.
  • Issuequarterly performance benchmarking reports highlighting KPIsanalysis and performance improvement recommendations.
  • Monitor and support the facilities in implementing therecommendations and closing performance gaps identified in thebenchmarking reports.
  • Conduct benchmarking andbest practice exchange workshops among Global Manufacturingfacilities with Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker)process technologies.
  • Provide ondemand remoteand/or field technical advisory support to Global Manufacturingfacilities on matters related to the operation of Thermal cracking(Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) plants including processtroubleshooting startup and shutdown activities capacity test runstechnology pilot testing and process design. Issue service reportsfor each support activity provided highlighting facility needsactions taken results and lessons learned.
  • Collaborate with Global Manufacturing facilitiesengineers to propose cost optimization or process improvementinitiatives focusing on lowhanging fruits with minimal or nocapital investment required through operational adjustment ordesign modification.
  • Conduct internalassessments on Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker)process engineering standards using This Company engineeringstandard references highlighting deviations or more optimalstandards applied by affiliates for endorsement to facilitymanagement or This Company Central Engineering.
  • Act as the coordinator for implementing GlobalManufacturing and Corporate programs at Thermal cracking (DelayedCoker / Visbreaker) operating facilities for execution andeffective monitoring.
  • Participate in businessplan development and coordinate with stakeholders for capitalinvestments in assigned process units supporting technoeconomicevaluations.
  • Support the arrangement andfacilitation of technical knowledge exchange workshops with Thermalcracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) process technology licensorsand Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Provideinhouse technical training to Global Manufacturing facilities whenneeded.
  • Participate in hazard operability(HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies as required byThermal cracking (Delayed Coker / Visbreaker) operatingfacilities.
  • Participate in incidentinvestigation activities related to Thermal cracking (Delayed Coker/ Visbreaker) process technologies as required by operatingfacilities.

Requirements:

  • This role required candidate topermanently relocate at Dhahran SaudiArabia.
  • Bachelors degree inChemical Engineering or a related specialization. An advanceddegree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years oftotal experience in refinery process units including experience inprocess engineering and operations.
  • At least10 years experience in handling Delayed Coker / Visbreakerplants.
  • Exposure to different licensortechnologies for Thermal cracking Delayed Coker / Visbreaker ispreferred.
