Position: Director - Quality Engineering (Telco Analytics Product Testing)
Responsibilities & Deliverables:
Lead and manage software quality team, participate in the analysis, design, implementation, and execution of functional & non-functional testing activities for designated telecom analytics projects.
Contribute to test strategy, planning, execution, tracking/reporting throughout the SDLC, and ensuring non-functional testing/benchmarking is carried out.
Ensure Quality KPIs are met, optimized and transparently tracked/reported on a continuous basis
Streamline quality processes drive value from the QE organization (lower defects, enable rapid deployment, higher automation etc), Perform audits to ensure quality standards, procedures, methods, and duologies are followed by the QA Team.
Work with software architects and developers throughout the software development life cycle to develop and implement the software test strategy and plan.
Participate in design, code, and test plan reviews as needed and provide appropriate recommendations. Review all documentation, including release notes, MOPs, and monitoring data.
Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
Estimate testing efforts, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
Provide internal training to ensure QA standards are taught and implemented.
Lead investigation teams and ensure proper close-out and follow-up.
Display understanding of the project's value proposition for the customer.
Actively support escalated issues from both internal and external customers.
Develop, mentor, and help in people development, ensure training and learning of team members, goals setting and objectives reviews.
Make decisions independently and notify management of action taken.
Effectively implement Mobileum Tools like Jira for release planning, defects management, etc.
Develop training plans, Manage test environments, RCAs, Action Plans, etc.
Interact with Development, Delivery, Program Management and Product Management to progress on tasks and manage risks.
Ownership of Test Data, CI/CD, Test Environments and Automation of the same.
Domain, Technical and People Skills :
Extensive knowledge of telecom testing, concepts, end-to-end call flows, and QA expertise in the Telecom Core Network. The candidate must have substantial experience in areas such as IMS/LTE/5G technology, SS7, SIP, Diameter, GTP, SMPP, HTTP, etc.
Strong proficiency in Big Data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, NoSQL, Oozie, Hive, Presto, Postgres, etc.
Deep knowledge of Linux systems, including installation and troubleshooting.
Previous experience in test design and execution capabilities, with a clear understanding of test cases, plans, and strategies. The candidate should have experience in managing large projects.
Strong leadership skills, including experience in managing people, coaching, mentoring, and providing feedback to improve individual and team effectiveness.
Excellent client-facing, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and decision-making skills are a must. The candidate should demonstrate the ability to handle escalations and difficult situations/people under pressure efficiently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to express technical concepts in business terms.
Educational Qualification:
B.E. / B.Tech., M.E./M. Tech. or M. Sc. in Computer Science / Electronics Engineering / MCA. Advanced degree preferred.
Experience Level:
Overall, 15 years or more in Quality Engineering with more than 5 years in Bigdata Analytics
