Job Title: Procurement Specialist – Packaging Materials

Reports To: Head of Supply Chain

Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist focused on packaging materials to support our innovative range products. The ideal candidate will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing packaging material procurement, ensuring that our products meet high standards of quality, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness. This role requires a blend of analytical skills, supplier relationship management, and an understanding of packaging trends within the space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Sourcing & Management:
    • Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for packaging materials (e.g., bottles, jars, boxes, labels, eco-friendly alternatives).
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential suppliers to ensure consistent quality and timely delivery.
  • Negotiation & Contract Management:
    • Negotiate competitive pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers.
    • Prepare, review, and manage contracts, ensuring compliance with tacX policies and regulatory standards.
  • Cost Management & Budgeting:
    • Monitor and control procurement budgets while identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality.
    • Analyze market trends to forecast pricing fluctuations and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance:
    • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to establish packaging quality standards and conduct periodic supplier audits.
    • Ensure that packaging materials comply with industry regulations, sustainability practices, and tacX quality benchmarks.
  • Logistics & Inventory Management:
    • Coordinate with logistics teams to manage the timely delivery of packaging materials.
    • Monitor inventory levels, manage reorder points, and optimize stock to minimize waste and storage costs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with product development, marketing, and manufacturing teams to align packaging procurement with product design, branding, and production timelines.
    • Support new product launches by sourcing innovative packaging solutions that enhance product appeal and functionality.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, supplier performance metrics, and cost analyses.
    • Generate regular reports to inform strategic decisions and identify areas for improvement in the supply chain.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications in procurement or supply chain management are a plus.

Experience:

  • 1-2 years of experience in procurement, ideally within the packaging, FMCG, cosmetics, or nutraceutical industries.
  • Proven track record in supplier negotiation, contract management, and cost optimization.

Key Competencies:

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management abilities.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and ERP system
  • Knowledge of sustainable packaging practices and trends in eco-friendly materials.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Familiarity with regulatory standards and quality assurance practices related to packaging.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for supplier audits and trade shows.
