Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative professional with expertise in SolidWorks and a strong design background. The ideal candidate will excel at developing autonomous machines and other equipment, collaborating with a team, and solving complex problems. A passion for creating efficient, reliable, and easily manufacturable designs is essential.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize SolidWorks to create detailed and accurate models of machine components and systems.
  • Translate ideas into actionable concepts and designs.
  • Design equipment/fixtures and/or autonomous machines tailored to perform repetitive tasks efficiently.
  • Select, size, and integrate mechanical or process components with oversight from our team.
  • Incorporate fabrication, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems into designs when required.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability by:
  • Choosing appropriate material sizes.
  • Ensuring components are easy to fabricate.
  • Design for fabrication and assembly to reduce the risk of assembly errors.
  • Review existing equipment designs and determine where improvements can be made.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks; SolidWorks Professional, Expert, or Associate certification is a strong asset.
  • A solid design background with experience in machinery and equipment development.
  • Familiarity with electrical, automation, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems is an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Experience designing equipment for automation applications.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on creating reliable and user-friendly designs.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous experience designing autonomous machines and/or equipment and fixtures.
