Global Head of R&D

Role OverviewWe are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Head of R&D to lead our Cloud, Data & Mainframe Studio division. This director-level position will shape the future of our engineering and innovation strategy, and will own the execution of our solutions powered by Agentic AI. . The role requires a proven leader with a strong technical foundation, deep expertise in cloud and data engineering, software engineering, and Agentic AI technologies, and the ability to influence change across a diverse, multi-industry consulting environment.Key Responsibilities -People Leadership:- Create the R&D team structure. - Build and scale a high-performing team of 20+ engineers, mainly based in India. - Manage and inspire the team to deliver the art of the possible. - Manage a multi-million-dollar R&D budget and measure team ROI.Technology Strategy:- Define and execute an R&D vision at the intersection of cloud, AI/ML, and agentic AI, focused on delivering service-based solutions (not tied to a single product). - Lead initiatives to integrate Agentic AI, ML, and cloud-native engineering practices with our consulting & delivery groups, within the Studio and Amdocs wide, to deliver production outcomes at enterprise scale. - Drive the development of horizontal solutions across multiple industries, ensuring adaptability and reusability of innovations not tied to a specific vertical. - Work closely with go to market team & presales to deliver R&D solutions for their global service offerings.Organizational Change Agent:- Influence global consulting delivery, partnering with consulting & delivery leaders, promoting adoption of new technologies and delivery models. - Act as a trusted advisor to GM and CXO-level stakeholders internally and externally, representing the Cloud Studio with strong executive presence and communication. - Drive innovation in cloud & data modernization, platform-as-a-product, and data-as-a-product initiatives. - Champion engineering best practices and measurable business impact.Qualifications:- 15+ years professional experience in engineering, with 10+ years services and consulting environments. - Strong technical foundation, having grown from a hands-on engineering background in cloud, software, or data engineering. - 10+ years of experience in cloud engineering, with deep knowledge of modernization, migration, and platform engineering. - Proven expertise in Agentic AI, AI/ML, and deploying intelligent systems in production at scale. - Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and ability to story-tell & influence at the executive (CXO) level. - Track record of leading engineering teams and delivering innovative, service-driven solutions. - Experience managing large-scale budgets and scaling teams in a mix of offshore and onshore locations. - Demonstrated success as a change agent in global organizations, driving adoption of new technologies and approaches. - Product-mindset with the ability to balance innovation with service-delivery execution.About Amdocs:Amdocs is a global leader in software and services for communications and media companies, empowering digital transformation for the world’s largest service providers.
