Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Scrum Master with 1–2 years of hands-on experience to join our team and facilitate the Agile development process for our ongoing project. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in Agile frameworks, particularly Scrum, and proficient in using JIRA for sprint and task management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a servant leader and Scrum facilitator for the development team
- Organize and lead Daily Stand-up Meetings (DSM)
- Plan, facilitate, and document Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective meetings
- Ensure proper story point estimation and assist the team in breaking down and prioritizing tasks
- Maintain and update JIRA boards, epics, user stories, and sprint backlogs
- Identify and remove impediments that hinder the team's progress
- Promote Agile best practices and continuous improvement across the team
- Collaborate with Product Owners and other stakeholders to ensure backlog health and sprint readiness
- Track team velocity, sprint progress, and create relevant reports/dashboards for stakeholders
Key Skills
- 1–2 years of experience as a Scrum Master or in a similar Agile role
- Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with JIRA for Agile project management
- Proven ability to facilitate Agile ceremonies effectively
- Good understanding of story point estimation, sprint planning, and backlog grooming
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Scrum Master certification (CSM or equivalent) is a plus
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Familiarity with Confluence, Burndown Charts, and Velocity Tracking
- Experience working in a fast-paced startup or cross-functional team environment
- Technical background or experience working with software development teams
