ResponsibilitiesCredit Underwriting and Sanction- Evaluate and approve Secured Business Loan (SBL) proposals, with a primary focus on Loan Against Property (LAP), ensuring adherence to established credit policies and risk parameters.- Conduct thorough Personal Discussions (PDs) with applicants and perform site visits (or oversee the verification process) to accurately assess business viability, collateral value, and repayment capacity.- Ensure rigorous credit policy adherence across all proposals processed within the branch and region.Portfolio Management and Quality- Monitor underwriting quality across the region, identifying trends and proactively implementing corrective actions to mitigate risk.- Track regional delinquency trends (e.g., NPA, write-offs) and implement strategies in coordination with collections to maintain superior portfolio health and quality.- Provide detailed portfolio insights and performance analysis through accurate MIS (Management Information System) reporting to senior management.Leadership and Process Guide, mentor, and train branch credit teams on best practices for financial analysis, collateral evaluation, and robust credit assessment.- Ensure compliance with defined Turnaround Times (TAT) for credit decisions while maintaining underwriting quality standards.- Liaise effectively with Sales, Operations, and Legal teams to streamline the end-to-end loan journey, from application submission to legal vetting and seamless disbursement.Compliance and Audit- Ensure strict adherence to all internal and external audit and compliance standards (RBI guidelines, legal requirements).- Maintain meticulous records and documentation to ensure audit readiness at all times.Requirements and Background: Postgraduate degree in Finance, Commerce, or a related field is mandatory.Professional Experience: 4 to 6 years of focused experience in credit underwriting, risk assessment, and sanctioning SBL/LAP products within a reputed NBFC or BFSI institution.Domain Expertise: Deep understanding of property valuation, legal aspects of collateral, business financial analysis, and retail/SME credit scoring models.Technical Proficiency: Proficient in MS Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis and reporting) and experienced in utilizing core credit systems (LOS, LMS).Core Competencies:- Strong analytical and risk assessment skills with a keen eye for detail and identifying hidden risks.- Exceptional leadership and mentoring skills to build and manage a high-performing credit team.- Excellent communication and consulting skills for internal stakeholder management and external customer interactions.
