Job Summary:

As the Head of Accounts, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the accounting department within the organization.

This includes financial reporting, budgeting, auditing, tax compliance, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency in financial operations. You will work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in accounting, strong leadership skills, and a deep understanding of financial principles and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, reports, and forecasts in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or relevant accounting standards.
  • Coordinate and manage the annual budgeting process, working closely with department heads to establish financial goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Should have done closing of accounts and balance sheet of companies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Manage relationships and co-ordinate with external auditors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with audit and tax requirements.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and assess their potential impact on the organization.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as assigned by senior management.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance / CA/Inter CA , depends on the experience he/she carries.
  • Minimum of 15 to 18 years of progressive experience in accounting, with at least 7 years in a supervisory or managerial role.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems. Experience with SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy and integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
