Market Risk Analyst, you will play a key role in helping the Risk Management team identify, assess, and monitor market risks associated with our global trading activities. You will assist in ensuring that the company's market positions and exposures are controlled and compliant with regulatory and internal policies.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in monitoring daily market risk exposures for physical and futures trading activities, including positions, P&L, and key risk metrics (e.g., VaR, stress testing, scenario analysis).
  • Support developing and maintaining risk reporting tools, ensuring accurate and timely reports for senior management and trading teams.
  • Work with trading desks to understand and analyze trading strategies and their potential risks.
  • Assist in implementing and enhancing market risk management frameworks, policies, and controls.
  • Participate in weekly mark-to-market assessments and prepare risk analysis presentations for management.
  • Collaborate with the IT and data teams to improve data integrity and support the automation of risk processes.
  • Stay updated on market conditions, commodity price trends, geopolitical events, and regulatory changes that could impact trading activities.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance reporting, ensuring adherence to CFTC, CME, ICE, and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis and reporting as required by the Risk Management team.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 1-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in commodities, trading, or financial markets.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Basic understanding of derivatives, futures markets, and risk metrics such as Value at Risk (VaR) and scenario analysis.
  • Proficiency in Excel; experience with programming (Python, VBA, etc.) or risk management systems (e.g., Salesforce, CTRM systems) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen interest in global markets, commodities, and risk management.
