Essential/ Key ResponsibilitiesInventory Management : Ensure optimal stock levels, minimizing excess or obsolete inventory.Cost Control : Monitor and optimize inventory-related costs without affecting quality or service.Cross-Functional Collaboration : Work with logistics, procurement, and finance to align inventory with organizational goals.Documentation & Record Keeping : Maintain accurate inventory records and comply with regulatory standards.Vendor Management : Manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and ensure timely deliveries.KPI Monitoring : Define and assess KPIs for material management, taking corrective actions as needed.Budget Planning : Contribute to budget development and identify cost-saving opportunities.Process Improvement : Identify inefficiencies in inventory processes and implement improvements.Forecasting & Planning : Develop strategies based on demand forecasting and market trends to ensure optimal stock levels.Reporting & Analysis : Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends and cost-saving opportunities.Market Analysis : Stay informed about market trends to guide procurement and storage decisions.Operational DutiesQuality Control : Collaborate with quality teams to ensure materials meet standards and address quality issues.Demand Forecasting : Analyze data and trends to forecast demand for accurate inventory planning.Team Supervision : Lead and support stock auditors and inventory control staff.Supply Chain Coordination : Ensure timely material availability by coordinating within the supply chain.Risk Management : Identify inventory risks and develop mitigation strategies.Logistics & Distribution : Collaborate to optimize material movement and delivery times.Budgeting : Contribute to material budgets and monitor financial adherence.Order Fulfillment : Oversee order processing and coordinate to meet material needs.Health & Safety Compliance : Ensure material handling practices follow safety regulations.Cost-Benefit Analysis : Conduct analyses to identify cost-saving opportunities without sacrificing quality.Required work experience and Knowledge5-8 years of experience in material management, procurement, logistics, or a related field.Strong organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software.Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Required EducationA bachelor's degree in fields such as Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, or a related discipline is often necessary/ Masters in Business Administration.Skills RequiredLeadership: Ability to lead, motivate, and inspire teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work culture.Team Management: Proficiency in managing and mentoring teams, delegating tasks effectively, and resolving conflicts.Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify issues, evaluate options, and implement effective solutionsGeneral Competencies RequiredStrategic Thinking: Capacity to think long-term, analyze trends, and make decisions that contribute to the organization's strategic direction.Team Collaboration: Capability to work effectively with diverse teams, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines consistently.Team Building: Skill in fostering a positive team culture, promoting collaboration, and building strong working relationships.Delegation: The ability to delegate tasks effectively, empowering team members while maintaining accountability.Analytical Thinking:Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.Innovative Thinking:The ability to think creatively and propose innovative approaches to material management challenges.Behavioral Competencies RequiredEffective Communication: Articulating ideas clearly, actively listening, and fostering open communication among team members.Empowerment: Delegating authority and responsibilities while providing necessary support and guidance to team members.
