Head of Engineering

Tips: We are seeking a visionary and highly experienced Head of AI Platform Engineering to lead the strategic development, implementation, and scaling of our cutting-edge AI and Machine Learning platforms. This critical leadership role requires deep expertise across both AWS and Google Cloud environments, a proven track record in building sophisticated AI agents, and extensive experience in managing and leveraging data and analytics for AI success.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader, capable of setting technical direction, mentoring a high-performing team, and collaborating cross-functionally to drive innovation and deliver impactful AI solutions. You will be instrumental in shaping our AI infrastructure to support advanced analytics, machine learning operations (MLOps), and the deployment of intelligent AI agents at scale.

Responsibilities

* Strategic AI Platform Leadership: Define, evangelize, and execute the enterprise AI platform roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and technology strategy. This includes prioritizing investments in generative AI, AI agent frameworks, and robust MLOps capabilities.

 * Cloud-Native AI Architecture & Engineering: Lead the design, architecture, and evolution of highly scalable, secure, and cost-optimized AI/ML platforms leveraging services across both AWS and Google Cloud.

 * AI Agent Development & Deployment: Oversee the end-to-end engineering of sophisticated AI agents, from initial concept and design to robust deployment and ongoing management. This includes defining frameworks, tools, and best practices for agent development.

 * Data & Analytics Foundation: Partner closely with data engineering and data science teams to ensure the AI platform is built upon a strong, reliable, and scalable data foundation. Drive strategies for data ingestion, processing, storage, and governance to support complex AI workloads.

 * MLOps & Automation: Establish and champion MLOps best practices, including continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines, automated testing, model versioning, monitoring, and deployment strategies for AI models and agents.

 * Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, mentor, and inspire a world-class team of AI platform engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, collaboration, and continuous learning.

 * Security, Compliance & Responsible AI: Ensure the AI platform adheres to the highest standards of security, compliance, and responsible AI principles, including bias detection, explainability, and ethical considerations.

 * Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with data scientists, machine learning engineers, software engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to translate AI capabilities into production-ready systems that deliver tangible business value.

 * Technology Evaluation & Adoption: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends in AI, machine learning, cloud computing, and data analytics, identifying opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage.

 * Performance & Reliability: Oversee the monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization of AI platform services to ensure high availability, performance, and resilience in production environments.

Qualifications

* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.

 * 10+ years of progressive experience in platform engineering, with a significant focus on AI/ML platforms.

 * 5+ years in a leadership role, managing and mentoring engineering teams.

 * Extensive hands-on experience with AWS Cloud: Deep expertise in relevant AWS services (e.g., S3, EC2, Lambda, EKS, SageMaker, DynamoDB, Redshift, Glue, Kinesis, Bedrock).

 * Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud: Deep expertise in relevant Google Cloud services (e.g., GCS, GKE, Vertex AI, Big Query, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Functions, Dialog flow, GenAI).

 * Proven experience building and deploying AI agents: Demonstrated success in architecting, developing, and operationalizing intelligent agents using various frameworks and technologies.

 * Extensive experience in Data and Analytics: Strong understanding of data warehousing, data lakes, ETL/ELT processes, data governance, and data pipeline orchestration to support AI initiatives.

 * Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Java/Go.

 * Expertise in containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and orchestration.

 * Solid understanding of MLOps principles and tools (e.g., Kubeflow, MLflow).

 * Experience with CI/CD tools and practices (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).

 * Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native patterns.

 * Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

 * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:

 * Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure).

 * Familiarity with large language models (LLMs) and their applications.

 * Contributions to open-source AI or platform projects.
