Swan - Manager - Finance & Accounts

Job Summary:

The Head of Finance & Accounts will own end-to-end finance operations for SwanSat Group across its business verticals - KhetPe (AgTech), BhoomiSure (InsurTech), and SwanSat (Geospatial). This role will oversee budgeting, controllership, statutory compliance, audits, cash flow, costing, and MIS, enabling timely decision-making, strong governance, and healthy unit economics.

Candidate Profile & Skill 8 - 12 years in finance & accounts/controllership roles, preferably in multi-entity or multi-vertical environments.

- Proven record in monthly closures, audits, compliance, budgeting, and cash flow management.

- Exposure to B2B/B2G contracts, tenders, BG/EMD, and milestone billing preferred.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Financial Closures & MIS: Ensure monthly/quarterly book closure, reconciliations, GL hygiene, and delivery of MIS dashboards by T+7.

- AP/AR & Cash Flow: Manage AP/AR, billing, collections, credit control; drive DSO reduction and cash conversion improvements.

- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead annual budgeting, quarterly re-forecasts, variance analysis, and cost control across functions and verticals.

- Revenue & Project Accounting: Oversee revenue recognition (Ind AS 115), project accounting, cost allocation by BU, and adherence to capitalization policies (Ind AS 116/Intangibles).

- Treasury Management: Manage working capital, vendor payments, banking operations, and surplus fund investments.

- Statutory Compliance: Oversee GST (GSTR-1/3B/9), TDS/TCS, Income Tax (advance/self-assessment), Professional Tax, PF/ESIC, and maintain compliance calendar.

- Regulatory Filings: Coordinate with CS for Companies Act/MCA compliance; assist in registers, board support, AoC-4, MGT filings.

- Audits: Lead statutory, tax, and internal audits; prepare schedules, respond to queries, and ensure timely closure of observations.

- Policies & Controls: Define and enforce SOPs and DOA for procurement, travel, asset management, and expenses; ensure strong internal controls.

- Costing & Pricing: Support costing, rate cards, tenders, commercials, margin analysis; validate quotes and SoWs.

- B2G Finance: Oversee tender financials, EMD/BG issuance/closures, milestone billing, and contract compliance.

- BhoomiSure Finance: Manage insurance reconciliations (premium/commission/reinsurance) and support IRDAI reporting.

- Tech Spend: Partner with Platform/Tech teams to monitor and optimize cloud spend.

- Payroll: Coordinate with HR for payroll, reimbursements, variable pay, and ESOP accounting (if applicable).

- Systems & Automation: Implement/maintain ERP/accounting stack (e.g., Tally, Zoho, NetSuite), and automate invoicing, collections, and reporting.

- Investor Readiness: Prepare board packs, MIS/KPI dashboards, diligence data rooms, and track covenants.

- Taxation: Handle tax planning, assessments, notices, and transfer pricing documentation (if applicable).

Core Skills:

- Strong understanding of Ind AS, Companies Act, GST, TDS, and Income Tax compliance.

- Expertise in AP/AR, revenue recognition, project accounting, and costing.

- Proficiency in budgeting, variance analysis, MIS/BI tools (Excel/Sheets/Power BI).

- Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems and process automation.

Leadership Competencies:

- Strong ownership and accuracy under deadlines.

- Crisp communication with senior stakeholders.

- Ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Legal/Compliance, HR, and Tech teams.

- Enforces discipline in collections, controls, and spend governance.

Industry Knowledge (Preferred):

- Familiarity with AgTech, InsurTech, or Geospatial commercial models, data licensing, and service contracts.

- Understanding of IRDAI financial practices (premiums/commission/reinsurance) and B2G procurement finance.
