Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Associate Director - Real Estate Fund Accounting to join our India-based operations team supporting global real estate investment clients.

This leadership role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end accounting, reporting, and operational support for complex fund structures.

The ideal candidate will bring deep domain expertise, strong client management experience, and the ability to lead large, high-performing teams within a fund administration environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Client & Fund Oversight:

- Lead delivery for a portfolio of real estate fund clients including closed-end funds, REITs, joint ventures, and SPVs.

- Act as senior escalation point for clients; ensure accurate and timely delivery of NAVs, capital calls, distributions, and financial statements.

- Review and approve work produced by teams including financial reporting, investor statements, and fund-level analytics.

- Collaborate with clients, auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders to support audits, tax filings, and compliance activities.

People & Process Leadership:

- Manage multiple teams across locations comprising Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates.

- Drive employee development through coaching, training, and structured career paths.

- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to SLA and KPI frameworks.

- Lead recruitment, team restructuring, and workload planning initiatives.

Operational Excellence:

- Ensure compliance with international accounting standards (US GAAP / IFRS) and fund-specific documentation (LPAs, PPMs).

- Oversee implementation of new fund structures and process migrations.

- Contribute to system upgrades, automation initiatives, and transformation projects (e., RPA, workflow tools).

Business Development & Strategy:

- Support new client onboarding including fund setup, system configuration, and resourcing.

- Contribute to RFP responses, pricing models, and client presentations.

- Partner with global leadership on strategic initiatives including global delivery models, knowledge transfer, and thought CA, CPA, ACCA or MBA (Finance) from a recognized institution.

- 8-12 years of progressive experience in fund accounting, preferably in a fund administration setup with exposure to global clients.

- Strong background in real estate or private equity fund accounting (closed-end funds, REITs, SPVs).

- Experience managing mid-size to large teams (10+ team members including leads and senior staff).

- Deep knowledge of partnership accounting, investor allocations, fee structures, and performance waterfalls.

- Proficiency in fund accounting platforms such as Yardi, Investran, MRI, eFront, FIS, or similar.

- Familiarity with IFRS, US GAAP, and IND AS.
