This guiding principle reflects our dedication to developing natural, plant-based solutions for the Food, Feed, Health, nutraceuticals and pharmaceuticals industries in today's dynamic, health-conscious world.Role Summary:We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Lab QC Head with over 20 years of expertise in Food, Oil, and R&D environments. The ideal candidate will lead all laboratory and quality control operations, oversee product testing protocols, develop research initiatives, ensure compliance with international quality standards, and guide a team of analysts and technicians. This role requires strong leadership, technical expertise, and deep hands-on experience in PCR, chemical analysis, microbiology, and product research.Key Responsibilities: 1. Quality Control & Laboratory Management·Lead and manage QC laboratory operations, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.·Implement and monitor testing protocols for chemical, microbiological, physicochemical, and PCR-based analyses.·Ensure strict compliance with national and international standards such as FSSAI, ISO, HACCP, and GMP.·Review and approve analytical reports, COAs (Certificates of Analysis), and quality documentation.·Develop, validate, and improve laboratory testing methods.2. R&D and Product Innovation·Lead R&D initiatives for new product development and product improvement projects.·Conduct research on ingredient functionality, nutritional analysis, product stability, and shelf-life studies.·Evaluate new raw materials, additives, and processing technologies to optimize product quality.·Collaborate with production and marketing teams on formulation improvements and innovations.3. Leadership & Team Development·Supervise, train, and mentor QC analysts, R&D chemists, and microbiologists.·Ensure continuous skill development through workshops, training, and updated lab methodologies.·Assign responsibilities, review performance, and ensure high productivity within the lab team.4. Compliance, Safety & Documentation·Maintain complete documentation of all quality-related activities, including SOPs, test procedures, and validation records.·Ensure laboratory safety protocols, calibration schedules, and maintenance of instruments (HPLC, GC, PCR, spectrophotometers, incubators, etc.)·Interact with third-party labs, regulatory bodies, and auditors during inspections and certifications.5. Cross-Department Collaboration·Work closely with production, procurement, and supply chain teams to address quality-related issues.·Provide technical expertise for process troubleshooting and corrective actions.·Participate in root-cause analysis and establish CAPA (Corrective & Preventive Actions).Key Skills & Technical Expertise:·Strong expertise in laboratory analysis, chemical testing, PCR analysis, microbiological testing, and food/oil R&D.·Hands-on experience with instruments such as HPLC, GC, PCR systems, UV/Vis spectrophotometers, and microbiology equipment.·Deep understanding of quality standards: FSSAI, ISO 17025, BRC, HACCP, GMP.·Strong leadership, problem-solving, and analytical skills.·Excellent documentation, reporting, and communication abilities.·Ability to drive innovation and quality improvements across the organization.Qualifications:·Master’s degree or PhD in Food Technology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, or related field.·Minimum 20 years of industrial experience in Food/Oil/R&D environment.·Proven track record of leading QC labs and managing R&D operations.Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):·Quality compliance and audit success rate·Accuracy and reliability of laboratory results·Timely completion of QC and R&D projects·Efficiency and performance of lab team·Reduction in quality defects and customer complaints·Successful development of new/improved productsCompany Website: https://www.amitexindia.comWorking Days: Mon to Sat (Work from Office)Regards,Head HRhr@amitexindia.comMumbai
