About the role: An upcoming initiative by BITSoM, the Centre for Executive and Professional Development (CEPD), aims to provide professionals with top-quality and cutting-edge professional development courses. Led by stellar faculty and instructors from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, and more, the program will cater to current and future in-demand skills, ensuring participants are well-equipped to excel in their workplaces and respective industries. With state-of-the-art learning resources, this initiative aims to support professionals in upskilling and advancing while offering valuable networking opportunities. As a Business Development Manager, you will engage with enterprises to assess their needs and provide need-based programs from BITSoM’s executive education portfolio.


Job Responsibilities*

  • Identify and engage with potential clients and enterprises within various industries and sectors.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client’s business needs and challenges, with a focus on their learning and development requirements.
  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve business development targets and expand our market reach.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, operations, and academics, to ensure seamless and successful execution of client engagements.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to the management team on sales performance, pipeline, and market insights.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Follow up on leads, inquiries, and proposals to convert them into sales opportunities.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and market demands to identify opportunities and maintain a competitive edge in executive education.
  • Nurture and strengthen existing client relationships through regular follow-ups, ensuring high client satisfaction and fostering potential upselling opportunities


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Preferably a Post Graduate degree from a recognized Institute or University
  • 10-12 years of experience in similar roles in education or related industries
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or account management within the executive education or corporate training industry
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong understanding of corporate learning and development needs, as well as trends in executive education
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills to effectively engage with enterprise-level clients
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
  • Passion for building world-class institutions of higher education
