Lenovo’s Infrastructure Solutions Group (ISG), is seeking an experienced Server Validation Project Manager to serve as the primary liaison between internal development team, validation teams across the globe, and external vendors for validation work management. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coordinating validation efforts, ensuring alignment between development and quality assurance processes, and managing external vendors to meet project objectives. It is expected that this role will coordinate with other global teams within Lenovo for the validation efforts. This is an exciting role in a growing server development organization that is focused on being the #1 trusted IT Partner in the datacenter infrastructure market.


The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in server validation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a global, cross-functional environment.



Responsibilities


The jobs will include below but not limited to:


Act as the focal point between the internal development team, validation teams located globally, and external vendors for server validation activities.

Coordinate with validation teams across different sites to gather project information, share best practices, and ensure consistency in validation methodologies and practices.

Coordinate with external vendors to manage validation requirements, deliverables, and timelines, and ensure adherence to contractual agreements.

Facilitate communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, quality assurance professionals, and external vendors.

Manage local vendor relationships and serve as the primary point of contact for validation-related activities, including scheduling meetings, providing technical guidance, and resolving issues.

Manage local vendors involved in validation work, including supporting to define scope of work, negotiate contracts, and monitor performance to ensure timely delivery of high-quality results.

Track and report on local validation progress, identify risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.

Communicate effectively with peers from other sites and senior management to provide project updates, escalate issues, and make recommendations for improvement.

Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies related to server hardware and validation methodologies.

Coordinate with external vendors to manage Lenovo materials at vendor site


Requirement/Qualification


Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.

11+ years of experience in server validation or system integration, with a strong background in project management across internal functional teams and/or external vendors.

Strong understanding of server architecture, including CPUs, memory modules, storage devices, and network interfaces.

Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and mitigate risks.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams across different geographic locations.

Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality results and driving continuous improvement.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, with a proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.

Experience with vendor management processes and methodologies is preferred.

Proficiency in scripting or programming languages such as Python, Perl, or C/C++ is a plus.

Experience with test automation frameworks and tools for server validation is a plus.

PMP certification is a plus.
