Role Overview

We're looking for a Data Science Intern to support our data analysis and ML initiatives end-to-end—from ETL and dataset curation to modeling and visualization. You'll work closely with data engineers and product stakeholders to deliver analyses that drive product and business decisions. This is a remote role, 3–6 months, with the potential for a full-time offer based on performance.

What you'll do

  • Perform ETL/ELT: clean, transform, and validate datasets from multiple sources.
  • Build statistical & ML models (e.g., classifiers/regressors, time series, A/B metrics).
  • Create dashboards/visualizations to communicate findings to non-technical partners.
  • Run exploratory data analysis and produce crisp, reproducible notebooks/reports.
  • Collaborate on data quality checks, feature engineering, and MLOps handoffs.
  • Translate analysis into actionable recommendations for product and growth teams.

What you'll bring

  • Strong analytical skills and solid grounding in statistics (hypothesis tests, sampling, regression/classification fundamentals).
  • Proficiency in Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, Jupyter) and SQL.
  • Comfortable with data wrangling and joining/aggregating across large tables.
  • Clear written and verbal communication; you can explain complex ideas simply.
  • Team player with a bias for ownership and iteration.
  • Currently in a Bachelor's/Master's program in Data Science, Statistics, CS, or related field (0–2 years experience).

Nice-to-haves (bonus points)

  • Experience with time series, model evaluation, or ML interpretability (e.g., SHAP).
  • Familiarity with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) or analytics engineering (dbt, Snowflake).
  • Exposure to APIs/web scraping, data enrichment, or lightweight MLOps.
  • Git/GitHub and good habits for reproducible research.
