Senior Manager, Record to Report (R2R - Dubai


Summary:

The Senior Manager, Record to Report (R2R), plays a critical role in overseeing the end-to-end accounting processes within the organization. This position is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records and reports. The incumbent will lead a team of professionals to execute various R2R functions, including journal entries, reconciliations, financial close, and financial reporting. The Senior Manager will collaborate cross-functionally to implement process improvements, enhance controls, and drive operational efficiencies.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Team Management:

- Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the R2R team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

- Set clear goals and objectives for team members, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback and coaching.

- Develop talent within the team through training, career development initiatives, and succession planning.

Financial Close Process:

- Oversee the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, ensuring timeliness, accuracy, and completeness of financial statements.

- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues, discrepancies, and variances identified during the close process.

- Review journal entries, accruals, and other accounting transactions to ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.

Reconciliation and Analysis:

- Manage the reconciliation process for balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, intercompany transactions, and prepaid expenses.

- Conduct variance analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement, providing insights to senior management for decision-making purposes.

- Implement best practices for account reconciliation and documentation, ensuring adherence to internal controls and audit requirements.

Financial Reporting and Compliance:

- Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies.

- Collaborate with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and address audit inquiries and findings.

- Stay abreast of changes in accounting standards and regulations, ensuring compliance and timely implementation of new requirements.

Process Improvement and Optimization:

- Identify opportunities to streamline R2R processes, enhance controls, and optimize resource allocation to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

- Lead or participate in cross-functional projects to implement process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.

- Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and internal controls to support a strong control Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or equivalent qualification preferred.

- 18 years of progressive experience in accounting, finance, or related field, with 7+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.

- Strong technical accounting knowledge and proficiency in US GAAP or relevant accounting standards.

- Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, financial consolidation tools, and Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Oracle ERP is a plus.

- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.

- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.

- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate, develop, and empower team members.

- Commitment to integrity, ethics, and professionalism in financial reporting and business conduct.
