About us:
Masters' Union is a new-age business school offering industry-immersive business education where the classes are led by top industry leaders and practitioners. It is a first-of-its-kind institute where distinguished leaders from different walks of life have re-imagined business education in order to create effective business professionals for the ever-changing economy. Our leadership consists of alumni from IITs, IIMs, and Ivy League Schools like Stanford and Upenn.
In its 4 years of run, our flagship Post Graduate Program in Technology and Business management has already surpassed the placement records of IIM Ahmedabad and ISB with top-notch recruiters (including Amazon, Citibank, Microsoft, Unacademy, Razor pay, BCG, Bain) hiring our graduates.
About the role:
The Head of Career Preparation leads the strategic development and management of career services within the organization or institution. This includes overseeing career development programs, job placement services, internship opportunities, resume workshops, interview preparation, and career counseling. The individual in this role will work closely with students, alumni, employees, and employers to ensure that job seekers are equipped with the skills and resources needed to succeed in the job market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Program Leadership: Lead and develop career preparation programs that help individuals effectively prepare for and succeed in their careers. This includes workshops, skill-building sessions, and career fairs.
- Team Management: Supervise, mentor, and support a team of career counselors, advisors, and support staff to deliver high-quality career services.
- Strategy Development: Develop and execute the career services strategy, including employer engagement, recruitment partnerships, and internship/job placement initiatives.
- Employer Relations: Establish and maintain relationships with employers to secure job placements, internships, and other career opportunities for clients.
- Advising and Counseling: Provide one-on-one career counseling to help individuals with career planning, job search strategies, resume writing, interview preparation, and personal branding.
- Networking and Partnerships: Cultivate partnerships with local and national businesses, industry groups, and alumni to create career opportunities for participants.
- Data and Reporting: Track and analyze career services data, including employment outcomes, program effectiveness, and employer feedback to continuously improve services.
- Student/Employee Engagement: Organize events such as career fairs, networking events, and industry panels to enhance exposure to job opportunities.
- Professional Development: Keep up-to-date with the latest trends in career development and employability, and continuously refine career preparation practices.
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with employers, students, and industry partners.
- Knowledge of career development theories, job search strategies, and current employment trends.
- Experience with career counseling, coaching, or mentoring.
- Data-driven mindset with the ability to assess program effectiveness.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and career management software.
