Job Description –
Role: Corporate Counsel - Legal (Office of Integrity and Compliance)
Requirement of Corporate Counsel in the Office of Integrity and Compliance, Legal Department: Legal professional having 8 to 14 years' relevant experience in a legal & compliance role. Experience of essential elements of Corporate Compliance program and/ or advising on it will be essential.
The position is designed to be a key member of the Legal Department with diverse legal skill sets. The candidate will work with highly skilled members of the legal team to provide legal & compliance solutions to business.
Job Responsibilities:
Independent experience in legal regulatory compliance including in the following areas:
- Monitoring risk and compliance issues and implementation of risk mitigation/remediation solutions by relevant stakeholders.
- Provide guidance and assistance in reviewing/drafting policies, guidance notes, SOPs pertaining to regulatory compliance.
- Advising/working on issues pertaining to compliance with data protection and privacy legislations including but not limited to the EU GDPR. Among other things, this involves providing guidance on incident management and record retention management.
- Support on cyber security compliance and risk management including advising on and reviewing disclosure requirements to regulators, interacting with external vendors as part of resilience building measures, incident response and management.
- Advising on compliance with immigration laws in EU, APAC and MEA including review of policy/guidance documents relating to requirements for business travel, work visa regulations, reporting and notification requirements.
Qualifications:
LLB/LLM along with relevant experience as compliance counsel preferably in MNCs.
Required skills:
- Knowledge of applicable regulations including those relating to Data Privacy, Cyber Security, Immigration and Mobility.
- Independent project management including interaction with external and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to manage/support on review and audit exercises in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to independently solve moderately complex issues with supervision as appropriate.
- Good communication, interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion in sensitive matters.
Location: Bengaluru
Educational Qualification: Degree in law preferred.
Experience – 8-14 years' work experience overall.
