Job Summary:

- We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Operational Risk Manager to join a leading Workassist Hiring Partner in the Banking industry.

- This Middle Management role is critical for providing expert guidance and oversight on Operational Risk Management across the organization.

- The manager will be responsible for implementing and maintaining risk management frameworks, utilizing advanced risk tools (CSA, KRI), ensuring strict adherence to deadlines, and fostering a culture that prioritizes both compliance and Diversity & Inclusion in risk strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Risk Strategy and Training:

- Provide expert advice, guidance, and comprehensive training to Business Units (BUs) and Support Units (SUs) on complex operational risk matters, including detailed risk management processes for unit adoption.

- Engage directly with the Unit Operational Risk Managers (UORMs) across relevant BUs/SUs to facilitate the use of specialized operational risk tools and methodologies.

- Ensure the timely completion of all tasks and risk mitigation activities, demonstrating a strong ability to Keep Deadlines.

Framework Implementation and Review:

- Facilitate the use of tools like Risk Event Reporting, Control Self-Assessment (CSA), and Key Risk Indicators (KRI) to enable units to accurately identify, assess, and mitigate key operational risks.

- Conduct meticulous reviews on operational risk metrics (Risk Events, CSA, KRI) as appropriate, including assessing the adequacy of unit responses and action plans as effective risk mitigants.

- Manage and maintain the Operational Risk Management System (ORMS) to enable accurate and regular risk reporting and analysis.

Compliance and Stakeholder Liaison:

- Liaise closely with partners in various control and support functions (e.g., Credit, Compliance, Legal) to effectively address operational risk issues arising in end-to-end processes.

- Work with internal support parties (e.g., ORMS support) to ensure system stability and functionality.

- Apply knowledge of potential risk areas including Digital transformation, Financial Risk, and regulatory changes to provide informed Risk Relevant experience in Operational Risk Management within the Banking or Financial Services sector.

Core Expertise: Mandatory strong expertise in Operational Risk Management, Operation Risk, and Risk Advisory.

Risk Methodologies: Proven experience facilitating and implementing risk tools such as Risk Event Reporting, CSA, and KRI.

Education: Graduate degree (Post-graduate/MBA preferred)
