What will you be expected to do?


The Service Management specialist covers the following service management functions:

  • Configuration management - including updating, maintaining, and verifying of CIs ensuring accuracy and integrity of the CI information.
  • Service transition process - work with change, release management and project management office on smooth service transition process.

And has a secondary responsibility for business continuity management.


Configuration Management

  • Responsible for managing, monitoring and optimization of Configuration Management process
  • Ensures management and timely update of CI information
  • Responsible for updating, maintaining, verifying of Cis and auditing as defined within the Configuration Management policy
  • Accountable for the accuracy and integrity of the CI information within the CMDB
  • Responsible for ensuring process and CMDB compliance to audits or other compliance controls
  • Responsible for meeting SLA targets for CMDB accuracy
  • Maintenance and continual improvement of the Configuration Management process
  • Responsible for auto update, discovery and import set data


Service Transition Process

  • Work with project management office to ensure a smooth transition to operations from projects
  • Work with change/release to ensure proper handover between configuration management and change management

Business Continuity Management

  • Collaborate with all divisions and stakeholders to develop and implement business continuity plans to anticipate, address, and mitigate the effects of various business interruptions.
  • Develop, maintain and implement BCP and DR plans including risk assessments, business impact analysis and documentation of BCP and DR procedures


Work Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ hands-on experience in configuration management
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in IT service management


Technical / Professional Skills

  • ITIL foundation certificate
  • Hands on experience with ServiceNow


Non Technical/Soft skills

  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills
  • Effective presentation skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Autonomous and self-motivated
  • Ability to lead, influence and coordinate resources to achieve results
  • Ability to perform under pressure
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills


Other Task-Specific Knowledge

  • Deep understanding of ITIL v3 processes, with experience in an ITIL based environment
  • Understanding of business continuity management
