Primary Purpose of Role

1. To drive compliance of CIPL Health Safety Policyand Standards to achieve ZERO.


Key Decision Making in thisRole:

  • Managing H&S aspects of CIPL brewery siteand deploy Management systemson the ground.
  • Ensure the technical queries are beingresolved and supporting the closures involving the key stakeholders.
  • Provide the H&Straining with theground staff.
  • Periodic evaluation and MIS reporting on H&S indicators.


Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

H&S Management System (Compliance to H&S Standards)


Drive implementation of the H&S Policy

Ensure documentation of the LocalH&S Procedures in compliance withthe Carlsberg IndiaH&S Standards and Business / Regulatory Requirements and taking into consideration the risks presented by Site operations.

Draw up and implement an H&S Training Program to support theimplementation of H&S

Standards &Procedures

Facilitate use of the H&S procedure in routine business of the Site.

Draw up and implement a verification program for the implemented standards

Establish and achievemeaningful objectivesand targets

Identify and implement control systems to minimize H&S risks

Review and reporton H&S performance and issues routine.

Implement behavior-based safetyto mitigate humanbehavior related risks.

Risk Assessment / Job SafetyAnalysis - Ensure compliance to the Carlsberg Protocol, Quality of inspection and adequacy of closure


H&S Management Verification


Work Place Inspection(Using Safety Tool-kit) - Ensure compliance to the Carlsberg Protocol, Quality of inspection and adequacy of closure.

H&S Audits Permit to Work, PPE Compliance, Machinery Guarding, Electrical Isolation, LOTO, Emergency Equipment (FirstAid, Eye wash station, Fire equipment access), Ladder safety, Visitorsafety Audit, Tanker/ Truck Offloading.

Accident Investigation, Closure – Ensurecompliance to the Carlsberg Protocol, Quality of investigation and adequacy of closure.

H&S ConcernSheets – Audit,Review Quality of inspection andadequacy of closure.


H&S Training – Drive the H&S training of permanent employee & contractor workmen as per the KPI targettaken for the year.


H&S Committee

Be an Active participant in the functioning of the Site H&S Committee

Drive employee engagement on H&S aspectsthrough the H&S Committee.

Develop and implement the Site H&SImprovement plan.


Implementation of SafeWorking Methodology

Draw up an implementation road map of Safe Workplace

Facilitate implementation of the SafeWorkplace concept in Shift BasedTeams on the shop floor


Implement Contractors Safety Management program as per Carlsberg Global Procedure


Implement LSR (LifeSavings Rules) as per Carlsberg global procedure.


H&S Statutory Compliance


Arrange to keep up-to-date all consents and Permits related to relevant statutes for safety .

Support compliance to requirements of other functions.

Be aware of current National Legislation and maintain standards. Oversee theregulatory compliance register for the CIPL Site.


Fire SystemManagement


Fire Risk assessment is carried out of the fire hazardsassociated with operations, processes, materials and ignition sources at the Site.

Fire Emergency Response Plans are put inplace and routinely exercises.

All fire incidents are recorded and investigated. Actions taken to prevent recurrence and learning arising from such incidents areincorporated in theFire Risk Assessment.

Physical fire safetysystems (both fixedand portable) areroutinely inspected, testedand maintained to minimum performance standards.


Prepare &Maintain site emergency preparedness plan, Disaster management plan and conduct mockdrills as per procedure.


Qualifications/ Memberships:

Preferably B. Tech (in any Discipline) & Diploma in Industrial Safety, with minimum 4 years experience in relevant field.
