In India we have been working in the areas of Health, Education, Environment, Food Security and Economic Development serving the needy population in the backward states of Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal. 5. **Contract Duration**: Full time

6. **Reports to**: Finance Head

7. **Supervisory role**: None

**Position Overview**:
This position is an executive level position requiring advanced accounting and financial management operations. The finance associate should be willing to travel to state offices as and when required.

**Core Roles and Responsibilities: 70%**
- Manage all accounting transactions
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
- Ensure timely bank payments
- Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
- Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Update and implement accounting practices and internal control measures.
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
- Ensure compliance with relevant financial policies and regulations
- Supervise the effective performance and control of all finance functions

**Link Responsibilities: 15%**
- Publish financial statements in time related to the projects.
- Report on the organisation’s financial health and liquidity.
- Be updated with knowledge of new regulations and changes in existing regulations

**Systemic Responsibilities: 15%**
- Regularly update their reporting officer
- Strictly maintain a proper feedback mechanism with his/her reporting officer
- Follow transparency and accountability in all practices

Qualifications and Experience:

- A master’s degree in Finance or related discipline is preferred, with minimum 5 years of working experience in non-profits.

Skills and competencies:

- Strong attention to detail and good analytical skills
- Strong communication skills.
- Self-disciplined and trustworthy.
- Excellent working knowledge of Tally ERP 9
- Experience of working with non-profit organisation is strongly preferred.

Salary for the advertised position will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
