Job Title : Oracle Developer DBA

Experience Required : 5+

Location : Mumbai

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled Oracle Developer DBA with 5+ years of experience to join our team at a leading banking client site in Mumbai.

This hybrid role combines database development and administration responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have strong proficiency in PL/SQL programming, including the development of stored procedures, functions, and triggers, as well as experience in database performance tuning and maintenance.

Key Development :

- Design, develop, and maintain PL/SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, packages, and triggers.

- Optimize and refactor existing PL/SQL code for performance and maintainability.

- Collaborate with application developers to integrate database solutions effectively.

- Develop and maintain database scripts and tools for data manipulation and reporting.

Database Administration & Maintenance :

- Manage database backups, recovery, and restoration to ensure data integrity.

- Perform regular patching and version upgrades (mandatory).

- Monitor database performance and fine-tune SQL queries for optimal efficiency.

- Set up and maintain maintenance plans, including transaction log management.

High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR) :

- Work with Data Guard, RAC, or other HA/DR solutions to ensure system reliability.

- Implement and manage failover and replication strategies.

Security & Compliance :

- Ensure database security aligns with OWASP standards and banking security policies.

- Manage user roles, access controls, and privileges to prevent unauthorized access.

Collaboration & Support :

- Provide ongoing support for production and non-production environments.

- Collaborate with Linux Admins, L1 support, and other DBAs within the team.

- Work directly with the customers IT department to troubleshoot and resolve issues.

Automation & Scripting (Nice to Have) :

- Knowledge of Shell scripting.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database development and administration.

- Strong proficiency in PL/SQL programming, including stored procedures, functions, and triggers.

- Experience with Oracle Database 19c.

- Familiarity with database performance tuning and optimization techniques.

- Understanding of database security best practices and compliance standards.

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

Preferred Qualifications :

- Oracle Database Administration certification (OCA/OCP).

- Prior experience in banking or financial environments.

- Familiarity with ITIL processes.

- Ability to work in a structured, high-availability setup and manage extended work hours when required.

- Strong documentation and process adherence skills.
