Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Lead Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the support and maintenance of our Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of cloud services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot issues, optimize performance, and implement best practices, while also mentoring junior engineers and providing guidance on complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Cloud Support Operations: Oversee the daily operations and support of the Azure cloud environment, ensuring high availability and performance of cloud services.

• Incident Management: Act as the primary escalation point for critical incidents, troubleshooting and resolving complex issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime and service disruptions.

• Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to enhance the efficiency and scalability of cloud resources.

• Security & Compliance: Ensure that the cloud environment adheres to industry best practices and organizational security policies, including regular audits, vulnerability assessments, and the implementation of security patches.

• Change Management: Lead the planning and execution of changes to the cloud infrastructure, ensuring that all modifications are thoroughly tested and documented to prevent disruptions.

• Automation & Scripting: Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline cloud operations, reduce manual effort, and improve response times to recurring issues.

• Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment and ensuring the team is equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to support the Azure platform.

• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of the cloud environment, including architecture diagrams, configuration details, and operational procedures.

• Collaboration: Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to align cloud services with business needs and technical requirements.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.

• Experience: o 7+ years of experience in cloud support or administration, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.

o Proven experience in leading cloud operations and support teams.

• Technical Skills:

o Deep understanding of Azure services, including virtual machines, storage, networking, databases, and security.

o Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.

o Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).

o Strong knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs.

o Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

• Soft Skills:

o Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

o Strong leadership and team collaboration skills.

o Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders
