We are currently developing an AI-based tutor prototype to assist students from grades 9 to 12, and we are seeking a talented and experienced Product Development Lead to spearhead this effort.
Role Description
As the Product Development Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end development of our AI-based tutoring product. At this stage, you will play a critical role in building the entire development team from the ground up. You will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, data scientists, and educators to create a comprehensive and engaging learning experience for students. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Lead the product development lifecycle from concept to launch, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Team Building and Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a team of data engineers/scientists, NLP engineers, frontend and backend developers, and subject matter experts.
- Product Vision: Collaborate with stakeholders to define the product vision and roadmap, ensuring alignment with company goals and market needs.
- Technical Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support to the development team, ensuring best practices in AI, machine learning, and software development are followed.
- Quality Assurance: Implement rigorous testing and quality assurance processes to ensure the product meets high standards of performance and reliability.
- Market Research: Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in educational technology, incorporating relevant insights into the product development strategy.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress and addressing any challenges that arise.
Educational Background: Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development, with a focus on AI and machine learning applications.
- Proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Experience in building and scaling development teams.
Technical Skills:
- Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, NLP, and computer vision technologies.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, and OpenCV.
- Experience with database management systems like PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on innovation and continuous improvement.
- A deep passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on students' learning experiences.
