About IILM University:

IILM University is a leading academic institution committed to providing holistic education and fostering innovation in diverse fields. We are launching a new undergraduate and MBA program in Sports Management to address the growing opportunities in sports industries like IPL and similar leagues in India.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary leader to serve as the founding Dean of the School of Sports Management. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping the program, fostering industry linkages, and positioning IILM as a leader in Sports Management education.

Key Responsibilities:

1. School Leadership and Administration:


• Establish and lead the School of Sports Management, ensuring its smooth operation and long-term growth.


• Develop strategic plans for the school, aligning with IILM University's overall vision and goals.


• Oversee day-to-day operations, including faculty management, program delivery, and student support.

2. Academic Excellence:


• Design and deliver innovative undergraduate and MBA curricula in Sports Management.


• Ensure academic programs meet global standards and industry relevance.


• Monitor program performance and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

3. Faculty Development:


• Recruit, mentor, and manage a team of qualified faculty members.


• Promote a culture of academic excellence, research, and professional development.

4. Student Engagement and Success:


• Foster a vibrant learning environment that encourages student growth and leadership.


• Ensure high standards of student mentorship, career guidance, and support services.


• Track and enhance student placement and internship opportunities.

5. Industry Integration and Partnerships:


• Build strategic relationships with sports leagues, organizations, and corporate partners.


• Develop a strong industry advisory board to guide the program's direction.


• Facilitate guest lectures, industry workshops, and hands-on projects to bridge academia and the sports industry.

6. Branding and Outreach:


• Position the School of Sports Management as a leader in the field through targeted marketing and outreach.


• Represent the school at national and international forums, conferences, and events.


• Engage with alumni to strengthen the school's network and reputation.

7. Operational and Financial Management:


• Manage budgets, resources, and infrastructure for the effective functioning of the school.


• Ensure compliance with academic and administrative policies.

Qualifications and Experience:


• A PhD or equivalent in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field.


• At least 15 years of experience in academia or the sports industry, with leadership roles.


• Strong network in the sports industry, including ties with leagues like IPL, corporate sponsors, and sports organizations.


• Proven track record in curriculum development, faculty management, and academic excellence.


• Excellent communication and team-building skills.

Preferred Attributes:


• Experience as a professor of practice or similar role blending academic expertise with industry insights.


• A visionary approach to identifying trends in sports management and aligning education to industry needs.
