About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join our team at SMC Global. As the CISO, you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the enterprise vision, strategy, and program to ensure information assets and technologies are adequately protected. You will lead the development and implementation of comprehensive security policies, procedures, and protocols to safeguard our organization against cybersecurity threats and risks. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of providing strong leadership in cybersecurity, risk management, compliance, and incident response.

Responsibilities:

  1. Cybersecurity Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive cybersecurity strategy aligned with business objectives and industry best practices.
  2. Security Policies and Procedures: Establish and enforce security policies, standards, and procedures to protect information assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  3. Risk Management: Identify, assess, and prioritize cybersecurity risks and vulnerabilities, and develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
  4. Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to information security and privacy, such as GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, etc.
  5. Incident Response: Develop and maintain incident response plans and lead the response to cybersecurity incidents, including containment, investigation, and recovery.
  6. Security Awareness: Promote a culture of security awareness and education throughout the organization, ensuring employees understand their roles and responsibilities in protecting information assets.
  7. Security Architecture: Oversee the design and implementation of security architecture and solutions to protect networks, systems, and applications from cyber threats.
  8. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure the security of outsourced systems and services.
  9. Security Monitoring and Detection: Implement and manage security monitoring and detection tools and processes to identify and respond to security incidents in real-time.
  10. Security Governance: Establish and chair a security governance committee to provide oversight and guidance on cybersecurity initiatives and investments.
  11. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports to executive leadership and the board of directors on the state of cybersecurity, key metrics, incidents, and compliance status.

Requirements:

  1. Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. A relevant industry certification such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA is highly desirable.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years in a leadership role such as Chief Information Security Officer or Director of Information Security.
  3. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team of cybersecurity professionals.
  4. Cybersecurity Expertise: Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, technologies, and frameworks, including threat intelligence, penetration testing, encryption, and identity and access management.
  5. Risk Management: Proven experience in risk management, including risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk monitoring.
  6. Regulatory Compliance: Thorough knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to information security and privacy.
  7. Incident Response: Demonstrated experience in incident response planning and execution, including coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
  8. Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  9. Problem-solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and tactically about cybersecurity issues.
  10. Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across departments and with external partners and stakeholders.
  11. Continuous Learning: Commitment to staying updated on emerging threats, trends, and technologies in the cybersecurity field.
