Role Overview :

We are looking for an experienced Workday Integration Developer with a strong technical background in Workday HCM integrations.

The role involves end-to-end integration lifecycle management, including design, development, testing, deployment, and support of Workday integrations using Workday Studio, EIB, Core Connectors, XSLT, and other Workday tools.

The candidate will work closely with business analysts, functional consultants, technical architects, and external application teams to deliver high-quality, scalable, and maintainable integration solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Integration Design & Development :

- Develop complex Workday integrations using EIB (Inbound & Outbound), Core Connector (Worker, Benefits, Payroll, Compensation, Recruiting), Workday Studio, and XSLT transformations.

- Implement SOAP and REST web services within Workday integrations for seamless connectivity with external systems (ERP, Payroll, LMS, CRM, etc.).

- Configure Workday calculated fields, custom reports, and transformation logic for integration payload mapping.

- Design integrations with error handling, logging, and retry mechanisms to ensure resilience and data integrity.

- Implement Workday Extend solutions for custom integration scenarios.

Data Migration & Transformation :

- Extract, transform, and load data using Workday EIB, Core Connector, Workday Studio, and integration templates.

- Perform data validation, reconciliation, and auditing to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

- Develop and maintain integration transformation maps, XSLT scripts, and calculated field logic.

- Handle large-volume data integrations, ensuring performance and scalability.

Testing & Deployment :

- Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and UAT for all Workday integrations.

- Troubleshoot and resolve integration errors, system conflicts, and performance issues.

- Participate in release management, deployment planning, and cutover activities.

- Monitor production integrations and implement proactive alerting and monitoring strategies.

Technical Architecture & Documentation :

- Analyze complex business requirements and design technical integration specifications.

- Document integration architecture, data flows, mapping rules, transformation logic, and dependencies.

- Collaborate with Workday security team to implement role-based access controls for integrations.

- Develop runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational documentation for production support.

Collaboration & Mentorship :

- Work with business analysts, functional consultants, and IT teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

- Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices in Workday integrations.

- Participate in technical review sessions, design walkthroughs, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Technical Skills & Expertise :

Must-Have :

- 25 years of hands-on experience in Workday Integration development.

- Expert in Workday Studio, EIB (Inbound & Outbound), Core Connector Worker/Benefits, and XSLT transformations.

- Strong understanding of Workday HCM objects, calculated fields, business processes, and security model.

- Proficiency in SOAP and REST web services, JSON, XML, and data transformation techniques.

- Experience with integration scheduling, monitoring, error handling, and performance tuning.

- Experience in migration of integrations across Workday tenants (sandbox, implementation, production).

Good to Have / Advantage :

- Experience with Workday Extend for custom development.

- Knowledge of Workday Reporting, OTBI, BIRT, and integration with external BI systems.

- Familiarity with Workday Security Groups, role-based access control (RBAC), and domain security policies.

- Exposure to multi-tenant Workday environments and quarterly upgrades.

- Familiarity with DevOps pipelines and version control for Workday integration artifacts.
