Role Overview:
- We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Head of Team - Senior Content Operations (SCO) to lead our digital content strategy, content operations, and social media marketing efforts.
- The ideal candidate will have over 15 years of experience in digital content management, team leadership, and strategic social media operations.
- As the Head of Team, you will be responsible for steering the content operations across various digital platforms, aligning the content with business goals, and managing a high-performing team.
- You will play a key role in strategizing and executing digital growth initiatives while ensuring the delivery of high-quality content that resonates with our audience.
Key Responsibilities:
Content Strategy & Planning:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive digital content strategy for The Indian Express, in line with our editorial vision and business goals.
- Collaborate with editorial, marketing, and design teams to create engaging, informative, and shareable content.
- Lead the development and execution of content calendars across platforms, ensuring timely and relevant content delivery.
Team Leadership & Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a high-performing content team, including content writers, editors, designers, and social media specialists.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment to drive content excellence and digital growth.
- Provide clear guidance and support for career development, skill enhancement, and performance improvement within the team.
Social Media & Digital Marketing Strategy:
- Lead and drive social media strategies across key platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube) to enhance brand visibility, engagement, and audience growth.
- Oversee the execution of digital marketing campaigns to boost traffic, engagement, and revenue generation through social media and other online channels.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics and make data-driven decisions to optimize social media strategies.
Content Optimization & SEO:
- Ensure the implementation of SEO best practices across all content to drive organic traffic and improve search rankings.
- Collaborate with the SEO team to optimize content for web and mobile experiences.
- Regularly track content performance, analyze user behavior, and iterate on strategies to enhance audience engagement and retention.
Innovation & Trend Awareness:
- Stay abreast of the latest digital content trends, social media innovations, and emerging technologies.
- Introduce new tools, techniques, and platforms to enhance content creation, distribution, and engagement.
- Use market and audience insights to refine content and digital strategies.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with editorial, marketing, and sales teams to ensure content supports and enhances broader company goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and achieve measurable business objectives.
Crisis Management & Brand Reputation:
- Address any content or social media crises promptly, ensuring effective reputation management.
- Ensure all content maintains the highest journalistic standards and aligns with The Indian Express' commitment to unbiased, factual reporting.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience: 15+ years of experience in digital content operations, content management, and social media marketing, with a proven track record of leading teams in high-growth digital environments.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with experience managing large teams, fostering collaboration, and achieving goals through effective team management.
- Strategic Thinking: Exceptional ability to devise and execute content strategies that drive business growth and audience engagement.
- Digital Expertise: Extensive knowledge of digital content creation, social media marketing, SEO, and content optimization tools.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical mindset with the ability to derive actionable insights from digital metrics and KPIs.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the digital media landscape, including social media trends, audience behavior, and digital marketing best practices.
