Job Title: Logistics Manager

Location: Benin, Africa

Experience Required: 8-12 years


Job Overview:

The Logistics Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end planning, implementation, and oversight of the efficient collection, transportation, and delivery of goods. The role will involve ensuring smooth operations from the point of origin to the final destination, including customs clearance at the destination. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in logistics management and leading teams, preferably with experience in West Africa.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute the transportation of goods by sea, air, and land from origin to destination, ensuring timely delivery and smooth customs clearance.
  • Lead and manage the logistics team, providing strategic direction to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
  • Monitor and stay updated on global sea and air freight rates to ensure cost-effective logistics planning.
  • Prepare and manage freight budgets, ensuring operations stay within the financial framework.
  • Stay current with the latest Incoterms and apply them effectively in contracts and shipping agreements.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, freight forwarders, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient logistics operations.
  • Ensure compliance with international and local regulations, especially regarding customs and trade requirements.
  • Oversee the preparation and timely delivery of relevant reports, including budget performance, shipment tracking, and cost optimization strategies.


Key Qualifications:

  • Experience: 8-12 years of relevant experience in logistics, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Team Leadership: Proven ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
  • Freight Knowledge: Strong understanding of current sea and air freight rates and trends.
  • Incoterms Proficiency: Up-to-date knowledge of the latest Incoterms and their application in international shipping.
  • Budgeting Skills: Experience in preparing and managing freight budgets.
  • Regional Experience: Preference for candidates with previous experience working in West Africa.
  • Language Skills: Working fluency in French will be considered a strong advantage.
