Senior Automation SME & Capability Lead (Pharma & Industrial Automation) Night Shift USA Timings Position:Senior Automation SME – Full-Time Experience:Minimum 8+ Years Industry:Pharmaceutical Manufacturing | Life Sciences | Industrial Automation Location:Corporate / Training Center / Client Sites (Hybrid)ROLE OVERVIEWWe are seeking ahighly experienced Senior Automation SMEto leadautomation capability development programs , train engineers, and provide experttechnical SME supportacross client engagements in pharmaceutical and industrial automation. This role combineslearning & development, technical leadership, and deployment readinessto ensure ahigh-performance automation workforcecapable of supporting large-scale MNC pharma projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise inPLC, DCS (DeltaV preferred), SCADA, BMS/EMS, and regulated environments .KEY RESPONSIBILITIESDesign and deliverindustry-standard training programsfor bench engineers and new hires. Develop structuredlearning pathwayscovering PLCs, DCS, SCADA, utilities, and pharma process automation. Conducthands-on labs, simulations, case studies, and mock FAT/SAT exercisesto simulate real-world deployment. Evaluate, mentor, and certify engineers to ensureclient deployment readiness . Continuously improve training modules to align withemerging automation technologies and client standards . Serve as theinternal automation subject matter expert , supporting cross-functional teams and client projects. Lead troubleshooting, system optimization, andautomation strategy advisoryfor process and utilities systems. Supportcommissioning, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ, and regulatory compliance audits . Collaborate withQA, Validation, Engineering, and Production teamsto ensure adherence toGxP, GMP, GAMP 5, and 21 CFR Part 11 . Partner withclients, vendors, and OEMsto ensure high-quality deployment of trained resources. Participate in project scoping, pre-sales engagements, and workforce planning for automation deployments. Act as athought leaderin automation capability building and technical excellence. Maintain comprehensivetraining records, SOPs, competency matrices, and performance dashboards . Developbest practices, internal frameworks, and knowledge repositoriesto institutionalize automation excellence.REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILLSDeep expertise inDeltaV DCS(configuration, recipes, graphics) PLC programming: Siemens S7-300/400/1200/1500, Allen-Bradley ControlLogix/CompactLogix; Schneider/Mitsubishi optional SCADA/HMI: WinCC, FactoryTalk View, Wonderware/iFix Industrial networks: Profinet, Profibus, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA Strong understanding ofinstrumentation, I/O mapping, control logic, and alarms Pharma process equipment automation: reactors, granulators, blenders, mixers, filling and packaging lines Utilities automation: HVAC, AHU, BMS/EMS, WFI/PW, Clean Steam Familiarity withGMP, GAMP 5, 21 CFR Part 11, and validation documentation Demonstrated ability totrain, mentor, and develop technical talent Excellent presentation, facilitation, and communication skills Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making ability Ability to managemultiple training batches and SME responsibilities simultaneously Client-focused, professional, and adaptable tofast-paced, consulting environmentsQUALIFICATIONSBE / B.Tech / Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Electronics, Automation, or Mechatronics OEM certifications (DeltaV, Siemens, Allen-Bradley) preferred Previous experience inconsulting, industrial automation services, or MNC pharma projectsis highly desirable Build ahigh-quality, deployment-ready automation benchto support client projects Serve as atechnical anchor and thought leaderwithin the organization Reduce reliance on external consultants throughinternal capability building Enhanceclient satisfaction and engagement qualitythrough trained, SME-supported teams
