OverviewThe role of Underwriter in the Collection Process is vital to our organizations success. Underwriters play a crucial role in assessing and evaluating the risk associated with extending credit and determining appropriate collection strategies.Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluating credit applications and determining the risk involved
  • Analyzing financial data and credit reports
  • Setting credit limits and terms
  • Assessing collection strategies and recommending appropriate actions
  • Reviewing payment history and developing collection plans
  • Communicating with customers regarding payment arrangements
  • Collaborating with collection agencies and legal teams
  • Maintaining accurate records of collection activities
  • Monitoring delinquent accounts and implementing recovery actions
  • Conducting risk assessments and making credit decisions
  • Staying updated on industry regulations and best practices
  • Providing recommendations for process improvements
  • Preparing reports on collection activities and performance
  • Participating in credit meetings and discussions
  • Adhering to compliance and regulatory standards
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting Business or related field
  • Proven experience as an underwriter or in a similar role
  • Deep understanding of credit risk assessment and collection processes
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and interpretation
  • Excellent knowledge of lending regulations and compliance
  • Strong analytical and decisionmaking skills
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in data analysis
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience with credit scoring models and software
  • Sound judgment and problemsolving capabilities
  • Proactive approach to risk management
  • Adept at using MS Office and financial software
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset
  • Certification in Credit Risk Management is a plus
