Job Description: Central Maintenance Head Location:Chennai Industry:Solar / Renewable Energy / ManufacturingRole Objective The Central Maintenance Head will be responsible for leading, planning, and implementing the overall maintenance strategy across the Chennai facility. The role will focus on ensuring high uptime and reliability of plant machinery, utilities, and equipment through predictive and preventive maintenance, energy cost optimization, compliance with statutory standards, and strong stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities 1. Maintenance & Reliability Leadanalysis of downtime and breakdownsto identify root causes and implement corrective actions, ensuring continuous improvement. Driveuptime improvementacross all plant machinery, line equipment, and utilities in line with industry norms. Monitor and achievemaintenance KPIsincluding: MTTR (Mean Time to Repair) MTBF (Mean Time Between Failures) Machine Availability % Implement predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance programs to enhance equipment reliability. 2. Planning & Audit Conductperiodic maintenance auditsacross plants to assess planning, scheduling, and compliance to maintenance protocols. Ensure adherence togroup-level standardsand best practices in plant engineering and central maintenance. Establish robustmaintenance SOPs, manuals, and reliability standardsfor all critical equipment. 3. Cost & Energy Optimization Ensureenergy cost optimizationas per group benchmarks, focusing on reducing specific energy consumption per unit of output. Develop and implement cost control measures to reduce overallmaintenance expenditurewithout compromising quality. Promotedomestic spare part developmentto reduce import dependency and optimize cost, ensuring quality standards are maintained. 4. Statutory & Compliance Ensure strict adherence to all statutory, regulatory, and group requirements, including: ISO standards(ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 50001) OHSAS / ISO 45001for safety compliance State & Central government norms (Electrical Inspectorate, Pollution Control Board, Factory Act, etc.) Prepare and maintain compliance reports, certifications, and audit documentation. 5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management Lead, mentor, and develop a skilled maintenance team to ensure competency in advanced maintenance practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, EHS, Projects, Procurement) for seamless operations. Build and maintain strong relationships withinternal stakeholders, OEMs, vendors, contractors, and government authorities . Drive a culture ofsafety, quality, and continuous improvementacross maintenance teams.
