Weve recently added a visionary Chief Architect to our team, and now were looking to expand by hiring a hands-on, forward-thinking Software Architect in Bangalore, India.

This role is based in Bangalore, India, with a dotted line reporting to the Chief Architect in Helsinki.

While the position is based in India, youll work closely with colleagues across F-Secures global locations i. Finland, US, Malaysia and Slovakia.

Key Responsibilities :

Technology governance in India :

- Youll be responsible for cataloging system components, documenting their architectures, and managing the creation of an architecture roadmap as the system evolves.

- Youll also assess and address technical debt and guide the process of choosing tools and frameworks together with F-Secure Architecture Community.

Migration of legacy systems :

- Youll lead the migration from legacy systems to modern infrastructure, ensuring a smooth transition. This involves documenting comparisons between legacy systems and their replacements and overseeing the migration process, from software to data.

Driving innovation :

- Youll help shape the direction for innovation across F-Secure in India by encouraging creative thinking through initiatives like hackathons and team projects.

- Your role will focus on fostering a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement, driving meaningful progress within the team.

What are we looking for?

Proven technical expertise :

- You have a strong background in software architecture, with at least 7+ years of experience in building, maintaining, and evolving complex systems.

- Youre well-versed in both legacy systems and modern architecture and have led technical migrations.

You have proven experience in the following :

- Software Architecture creation and documentation skills

- Software Architecture decomposition methodologies

- Software component interface design.

- Identifying and evaluating Architecture characteristics.

- You are familiar with wide variety of technologies and platforms and have proven hands-on experience.

- Key areas include API and API management, mobile and web application development, Cloud native development with Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud platform.

- Typically 7+ years of experience in software development, with a significant portion in a lead architect or senior architect role.

- Proven expertise in designing and implementing scalable, distributed, and secure software architectures.

- Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including services relevant to backend development, data processing, and machine learning.

- Deep understanding of backend development languages such as Java and Scala.

- Familiarity with Machine Learning (ML) concepts and their deployment on cloud platforms using Python and AWS.

- Solid understanding of DevOps principles, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.

- Proficiency in architectural patterns (e.g., Microservices, Event-Driven Architecture, Serverless).

- Experience with database technologies, both relational and NoSQL.

- Strong leadership and mentorship abilities, with a track record of guiding development teams.

- Strong communication and leadership: You can clearly explain architectural strategies, guide teams, and work closely with technology leaders.

- You take ownership of technology governance and enjoy mentoring and leading teams.

- Innovation mindset : Youre passionate about exploring new ideas and have experience running hackathons or similar projects.

- You enjoy creating an environment where trying new approaches is encouraged, and you can identify new technologies that will benefit the business.

- Collaboration skills : As this role involves working across multiple teams, you need to collaborate well with others and bring them together to solve complex problems.

- Youre confident in building relationships with different stakeholders and achieving results.

- Language and cultural fit : Full professional proficiency in English and experience working in a multicultural and global work environment.

- In this role, youll oversee and guide teams working with the following technologies (but not limited to) across Cloud and Mobile domains :

1. Backend : AWS, Java, Scala

2. Machine Learning (ML) : Python, AWS

3. iOS : Swift, Swift UI, Obj-C, C/C++

4. Android : Java & Kotlin

- While you wont be hands-on with the coding, familiarity with these technologies, especially AWS, will allow you to effectively guide and support your teams in making strategic decisions.
