Job Responsibilities:Processes charterer deductions for owner’s expenses in a timely manner, according to the terms outlined in charterparty agreementsTracks deductions, requests and reviews supporting documents, obtains approvals by liaising with appropriate JVCO departmentsAllocates costs to expense accounts, monitors provisions, identifies excluded costs and issues invoices to charterers where applicablePrepares invoices for crew bonuses and other recoverable costsMonitors aging of outstanding owners expense deductions and supports AR and Commercial Teams with the shared goal of resolving deduction issues in a timely way.Reconciles GL accounts, investigates and resolves discrepancies.Maintains owners expense statistics for charterers and by vessels. Example: nature of deduction, amount, frequency, accept vs rejected.Maintains records of charterers supporting documents in shared driveContributes ideas and actively participates in improvements to enhance the overall efficiency of the Owners Expense process, including both technology and non-system based solutions.Supports the AR Team by providing coverage for vacations, customer queries and various other tasks, as required.Requirements:Diploma or degree in commerce/management/accounting or equivalent3-5 years of accounting experienceKnowledge of receivables functions and processesAble to handle simple account reconciliations and analysis including resolution of reconciling itemsFamiliarity with business systems software i.e.NetSuiteGood PC skills specifically using MS Excel (intermediate level), MS Word and Adobe.Additional Desired Qualifications:Must be organized, detail-oriented and able to meet tight deadlinesConfident and shows strong initiativeAbility to work independently and in a groupGood communication and interpersonal skillsJob Demands and/or Physical Requirements:Periodic overtime to meet deadlines or accommodate time zone differences
