As a remote-first company, we foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.About the RoleNamasys is hiring an experiencedAS/400 Developerwho can take ownership of bothapplication developmentandLevel 1 production supportin a dynamic and remote-first work environment. The role requires hands-on expertise in RPG/CL development and a strong understanding of operational support workflows, including job monitoring, issue triage, and basic troubleshooting on the IBM iSeries (AS/400) platform.You will work on business-critical systems across industries like manufacturing, finance, and logistics, while also ensuring system stability and first-response resolution in live environments.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication Development • Design, develop, enhance, and maintain AS/400 applications usingRPGLE ,Free-format RPG ,CL/CLLE , andSQL/400 . • Analyze business requirements, write technical specifications, and deliver code aligned with performance and scalability standards. • Integrate with external systems and contribute to modernization efforts (APIs, UI upgrades). • Perform code reviews, testing, and deployment in collaborative Agile environments.L1 Production Support • Monitorbatch jobs , job queues, message queues, and printer files; resolve first-level issues proactively. • Investigate and restart failed jobs, clear spool files, and perform basic corrective actions. • Acknowledge, log, and triage tickets; escalate to L2/L3 support as needed. • Reset user passwords, unlock accounts, and perform basic role/user management tasks. • Communicate status updates to business teams and maintain clear documentation of incidents and resolutions. • Participate in 24x7 support rotations (if required, rotational).Required Skills and Experience • Minimum5 years of hands-on experienceinAS/400 (IBM i)development and support. • Expertise inRPG IV / ILE / Free RPG ,CLP/CLLE , andSQL/400 (DB2) . • Familiar with tools likeSEU ,PDM ,RDi , and job scheduling systems. • Experience inL1 application or system support— job monitoring, basic troubleshooting, incident management. • Good understanding ofproduction environments , SLA handling, and escalation protocols. • Strong debugging skills using job logs, spool files, and system logs. • Proficient inticketing tools(e.g., ServiceNow, JIRA) andremote collaboration platforms(Teams, Slack). • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment.Nice to Have • Experience inAS/400 modernization— APIs, UI enhancement, cloud migration. • Familiarity withAgile methodology , DevOps pipelines, and code repositories (Git). • Industry exposure toManufacturing, BFSI, Logistics, or ERP systems .Interested candidates may share their resumes athr@namasys.ai
