Business Finance Manager

Who we are:We are a start-up based out of Bengaluru . We are engaged in development of next generation missions and technologies (NGM&T) towards future warfare needs of the Indian defense forces. We are undertaking research towards enhancing persistence and autonomy for unmanned vehicles and robotic swarms. NRT’s product development portfolio includes a solar power stratospheric high altitude pseudo satellite (HAPS) unmanned platform and an air/ground launched stand-off autonomous system.Title : Sr. Manager - Business FinanceRoles and Responsibilities:Financial Planning and Analysis:● Develop, oversee and enforce the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.● Analyze financial data, trends, and performance metrics to provide insights and recommendations to senior management.● Collaborate with department heads to create departmental budgets and ensure alignment with overall organizational goals.● Evaluate financial performance against budget and provide variance analysis.● Knowledge of direct and indirect taxes is desirable.Financial Reporting and Compliance:● Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses to stakeholders, including management, board of directors, and external parties.● Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting standards.● Oversee internal controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy of financial data.● Coordinate and manage external audits and examinations.Strategic Financial Management:● Identify opportunities for cost optimization, revenue enhancement, and risk mitigation● Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to support business objectives and ensure financial integrity.Team Leadership and Development:● Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities.● Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance department.● Delegate tasks and responsibilities effectively, ensuring efficient workflow and optimal utilization of resources.Stakeholder / Banking Relationship Management:● Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders● Serve as a key point of contact for financial inquiries and communications.● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support strategic initiatives and business objectives.Financial Systems and Technology:● Evaluate and implement financial systems, tools, and technologies to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.● Stay current with advancements in financial technology and recommend innovations to improve financial operations.Special Projects and Initiatives:● Lead or participate in special projects, initiatives, and ad hoc analyses as required by senior management.● Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies across the organization.Key skills to have:● Knowledge of Indian GAAP, including IndAS● Timely closure of books every month and Investor reporting● Experience in cash flow and working capital management● Effective implementation of processes● Experience in managing Big 4 auditors● Experience in implementation of ERPTeam management experience:● Should have managed a team of at least 5-10 employees.Qualifications and Experience:● Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.● CA qualification is mandatory.● CS, CPA, CFA CMA are a plus.● 10+ years of progressive experience in finance or accounting roles, with at least 3 years in a managerial or leadership capacity. Experience in Manufacturing / Engineering organizations is a plus.● Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.● Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.● Proven ability to lead and develop a team.● Understanding of US GAAP and Indian GAAP, including IndAS accounting standards● Strategic thinking and business acumen.● Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
