About the Role:

We are seeking a Principal Cloud Engineer to join the Drug Innovation Platform team at a leading pharmaceutical organization. This critical role is focused on designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and resilient cloud infrastructure to support cutting-edge drug discovery and development.

As a key contributor to the Infra DevSecOps initiatives, you will integrate development, security, and operations best practices to accelerate innovation while ensuring regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and security across the cloud ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design and deployment of secure, scalable cloud infrastructure (preferably on AWS/Azure).
  • Integrate DevSecOps principles across the data and analytics lifecycle.
  • Automate workflows and infrastructure provisioning using IaC (Infrastructure as Code).
  • Implement quality and governance controls using "Quality as Code" and "Governance as Code" frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines with built-in automated testing and compliance checks.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and security teams to support cloud-based analytics and research.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot issues within analytics workflows and governance systems.
  • Drive innovation in cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, cost-efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 13+ years of total experience, with at least 5+ years in data analytics engineering, governance automation, or cloud DevOps in regulated industries (Pharma, Biotech, or Healthcare).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred), automation, and secure DevOps practices.
  • Hands-on scripting in Python/R, automation tools, and IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.
  • Familiarity with data visualization platforms, cloud-based analytics workflows.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools, version control (Git), and building reusable code components.
  • Certifications (Preferred): AWS Certified Data Analytics – Specialty or equivalent.

Preferred Background:

  • Pharma/Biotech/Healthcare domain experience is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of data governance in regulated environments (e.g., GxP, HIPAA, 21 CFR Part 11).
