Head of Sales And Marketing
Position Overview:
The Head of Sales will be responsible for overseeing the company's sales strategies and operations, driving business growth, and achieving sales targets. This leadership role demands strategic vision, robust sales experience, and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sales Leadership:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales plans and strategies to achieve the company's sales goals.
- Provide strategic input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization, including evaluation of potential alliances, partnerships, and acquisitions.
2. Sales Planning and Forecasting:
- Act as a product evangelist and personally assist in closing the largest deals.
- Prepare detailed sales forecasts and key performance indicator (KPI) reports for sales leaders, the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO), and upper management.
- Assist in organizational planning, financial forecasting, budget setting, and strategic planning based on sales data.
- Work collaboratively with Legal, Secretarial, Product, and Marketing teams to ensure cohesive efforts across departments.
- Provide full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of its development.
- Monitor all domestic sales channels and devise strategies to penetrate new markets.
3. Team Management and Development:
- Lead, manage, and mentor the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets.
- Provide training, development, and performance evaluations for sales personnel to enhance their effectiveness and career growth.
- Offer on-the-ground support for sales associates during lead generation and deal closing.
4. Market Penetration and Growth:
- Monitor domestic sales channels and generate strategies to penetrate new markets.
- Identify and exploit new market opportunities to drive revenue growth.
- Determine annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results.
- Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for regions and territories, projecting expected sales volume and profit for both existing and new products.
5. Customer Relationship Management:
- Meet with key customers to understand their evolving needs and ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain and enhance long-term relationships with customers to foster loyalty and repeat business.
- Engage with customers to understand their evolving needs and enhance maintained relationships.
6. Sales Operations and Pipeline Management:
- Ensure full visibility into the sales pipeline at every stage of development.
- Provide on-the-ground support for sales associates in generating leads and closing deals.
- Regularly review and report on sales performance, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
7. Pricing and Product Strategy:
- Recommend and implement changes to pricing structures to optimize profitability.
- Collaborate with Product and Marketing teams to align sales strategies with product offerings and market demands.
8. Legal and Contract Management:
- Review tenders, Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and similar documents from public and private sector clients.
- Oversee the review of all documentation with legal implications, including business contracts, NDAs, lease/rental agreements, vendor agreements, and litigation-related documents.
- Develop standard formats for commercial/legal terms and conditions and templates for Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs).
9. Special Projects and Initiatives:
- Lead special projects to minimize company liability and protect its interests.
- Develop and implement new sales initiatives, strategies, and programs targeting key demographics.
10. Reporting and Communication:
- Provide regular sales reports to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of sales strategies.
