Qualification : Engineering Graduate (Specialized in Mechanical, Production engineering,

Industrial & Automobile engineering preferred)


Experience : 6-10 Years of experience in Sourcing


Job Type : Contract Role – 1 Year


Position Overview:

The Lead Sourcing engineer with good experience in Purchasing & Supplier development , focusing on Marmon holdings India sourcing activities. We are looking for an experienced Sourcing engineer (Procurement experience in Steel Tubes , Precision machined items , Non Ferrous Forgings & Accessories)to help establish an Indian/Global supplier base. The individual will collaborate with Marmon Group companies sourcing& Engineering managers and this position will be hired under Marmon GIC at Bangalore

Key Responsibilities / Functions:

The Lead Sourcing Engineer is accountable for building and developing a strong and reputable

supplier base in India/Global for both low and high-volume parts/assemblies. This will be a

“hands on” position requiring the candidate to perform all aspects of Sourcing , Identify New

vendors , RFQ , Cost Finalization & Supplier qualification

Work with Sourcing & Engineering / R&D to assist, research and communicate in the

development of supply requirements of development items

Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings & communicate sourcing needs to

vendors

Verify and validate each stage of development milestone and ensure on time FAIR sample

submission and SOP launch

New vendors Evaluation and Vendor management: evaluate suppliers based on quality,

selection, service, support, reliability, availability, production and distribution capabilities,

transportation costs, and performance history.

Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and

fulfillment ensuring suppliers can meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery

of components and requirements for IATF 16949, ISO 14001 and other applicable customer and

internal system and reputation requirements.

Drive improvement utilizing lean methodologies, ensuring supplier compliance, driving

systematic problem solving and process improvements plan to deliver value

Specify, develop, and validate advanced technology, quality information and test equipment

Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on

developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product

development and procurement of parts

Ensure that all corporate and company compliance requirements and policies are followed,

together with local legislation. Ensure that necessary controls are in place and utilized.

The position requires both domestic and international travel, though mainly domestic.

Other activities as determined to support the sourcing and business development efforts.

Required Qualifications:


Mechanical, Production, Industrial or Automobile Engineer with min 8-10 years of experience in

Steel Tubes , Precision machined items , Non Ferrous Forgings & Accessories parts like Shims ,

Hoses & coils ( Experience in Ferrous castings will be an added advantage )

Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings and standards

Good experience of Steel Tubes , Steel Bars and Precision machined manufacturing process.

Skilled in supplier operational and relationship management.

Willingness and capability to conduct all aspects of supplier identification, qualification, and

management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.


Nice to have Requirements:


Experience in new vendor development, Sourcing, and supply chain management for

local/global customers.

Strong business-acumen

Ability to plan and think strategically

Familiar with U.S. and E.U. guidelines and regulations for conducting business
