Job Summary



The New Indian Express is seeking an experienced and innovative YouTube Manager to lead and manage our YouTube strategy across all our digital properties. The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding our brand, creating effective promotion strategies, and ensuring the growth and engagement of our YouTube channels. This role requires a deep understanding of YouTube’s algorithms, trends, and best practices, as well as the ability to analyze performance metrics to optimize content and strategy.



Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Planning and Execution:


  • Develop and implement a comprehensive YouTube strategy aligned with the overall goals of "The New Indian Express".
  • Create and manage content calendars to ensure consistent and timely uploads.
  • Identify and leverage emerging trends and opportunities in the YouTube ecosystem to enhance channel growth and engagement.


Content Creation and Optimization:


  • Collaborate with content creators, videographers, and editors to produce high-quality, engaging, and relevant video content.
  • Optimize video titles, descriptions, tags, and thumbnails for maximum visibility and engagement.
  • Implement SEO best practices to improve the discoverability of our videos.


Promotion and Marketing:


  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns to boost video views and channel subscriptions.
  • Utilize YouTube Ads and other digital marketing tools to reach target audiences effectively.
  • Partner with influencers and other YouTube channels to cross-promote content.


Analytics and Reporting:


  • Monitor and analyze channel performance using YouTube Analytics and other reporting tools.
  • Provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as views, watch time, subscriber growth, and audience demographics.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine content and promotional strategies.


Community Management:


  • Engage with the YouTube community by responding to comments and fostering a positive and interactive environment.
  • Manage and moderate live streams, ensuring high-quality user interaction and engagement.


Collaboration and Coordination:


  • Work closely with editorial, social media, and marketing teams to align YouTube strategies with broader company objectives.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure optimal video quality and platform performance.


Qualifications:


Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 - 15 years of experience managing YouTube channels, preferably for a news or media organization.
  • Proven track record of growing YouTube channels and increasing audience engagement.


Skills:

  • Strong understanding of YouTube algorithms, SEO, and digital marketing strategies.
  • Proficiency with YouTube Analytics, Google Analytics, and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent video production and editing skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Media Studies, or a related field is preferred.


Other Requirements:

  • Passion for news and media.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
